the distant hours is a good read, I hope you get to it. dunno that it is as scary as some of those others but a good read anyway. Shadow of the Wind was one of those surprise books to me..it was really a good read!!.. love the woman in white and Drood was another book I was surprised by..excellent book!

I am thinking of the night circus, many have it on their lists. Whatever you choose I know you will enjoy them. Can't wait for the reviews!!!!!

  2. I really hope you end up reading (and liking) The Monk!

  3. **Pat: There could be many many more books... I just went with the easy choices and didn't explore my TBR as much as I could have...

**Amanda: I hope I enjoy The Monk, too. I started it earlier this year, but then I stopped using my eReader. I am using it now, so perfect time.

  4. You are giving me already more ideas... Some are very tempting titles. I forgot to include some series. Last year I discovered Kelley Armstrong thanks to you. I'm looking forward to your reviews.

  5. I really liked your list! I had to laugh, because Faerie Tale was on my pile until the final review, and I may just read it anyway and add it to this challenge. I'm finally in the mood for it! You have some great titles there - Is When Demons Walk the latest in the Mercy Thompson series? And I almost picked up Blameless for this challenge too. You HAVE to read Sunshine, it is one of my favourite vampite novels, one I'm due to reread soon too only I've misplaced my copy. I have Drood on my TBR mount, and it might creep on if I get over the dread of reading another 1000 page novel right after reading Under the Dome last week! lol

It's so much fun, isn't it? picking the books, and then readings ones we want to be scared by :-)

  7. Oooh I hope you read The Woman in White, it's one of my favorites. And if it hooks you on Collins, be sure to check out Moonstone too. I'm surprised by how many books you listed are currently sitting in my TBR pile as well. Looking forward to reading your thoughts when you've read them and I have finished them too.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  8. Not that I'm going to get around to Rebecca anytime soon, but you should definitely try to get around to The Shadow of the Wind. It's a really well-done book!

  9. Wow...lots to choose from. I'm excited for this challenge!

  10. Cool list!

I thought 'Queen of the Darkness' was a fun read. 'The Woman in White' is also good and 'The Moonstone' is also really good - one of the first thriller/detective novels I think

  11. I'd be having nightmares reading ALL of those you picked LOL. I do love this challenge.

  12. **Caroline: I love Kelley Armstrong, but more for her adult books. Her YA books are good, but not as good as her adult stuff...

**Susan: I started Faerie Tale at some point, but never read on in it. When Demons Walk is the fourth book in one of Briggs other series: Sianim. It's not as good, but still worth reading. I really enjoy Carriger. I am glad to hear that Sunshine is worth reading. It is something I have owned for years and not read... And, yes, Drood is just so long...

**Daphne: I started Jonathan Strange and was actually rather far into it, but I didn't finish it... Shame on me...

**Amanda: I read The Moonstone last year, so I am looking forward to reading more from him.

Alison: I have heard so many good things about The Shadow of the Wind. I really need to read it this time around!

    **TBM: I am too!

**I remember Delight: I read The Moonstone last year, so I am looking forward to The Woman in White.

**Diane: lol My TBR is scary large...

  13. Ow wow Kaliana!! you have so many to choose from. I envy you

  14. **Novroz: Well, it is actually a lot of choices, so it might not be the best plan. It makes it hard to narrow down what to actually read...

What a list! Mine feels so puny in comparison. I am really tempted to re-read Storm Front--I've only managed to read 3 or so books in the series, and it's been so long that I'm afraid if I try to pick up where I left off, I won't remember anything! I never thought of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel for this challenge, but that's another one I could read, too. (If I have the time!)

  16. Great picks! I hope you read The Monk, though. I'm currently reading it and it is fa-bu-lous. :)

  17. The Woman in White is one of my all-time favorite books! Great choices. And I am looking forward to reading The Lantern, too!

  18. I listened to an audiobook version of The Woman in White last year. It was definitely atmospheric!

Hope you enjoy the challenge. :-)

  19. **simplerpastimes: I have only managed to read Storm Front. I really want to get into that series because I own several...

**Darlyn: Glad to hear The Monk is so good. I am thinking I might start it next.

**Danielle: I really hope I make time for The Woman in White. I enjoyed The Moonstone.

**Amanda: Glad to hear another vote for The Woman in White.

  20. Impressive list! I've read a lot of the ones you have in the series category. Any of them would go well with this challenge.

  21. You've got some good looking books in there Kelly, I hope you get plenty of your choices read!

  22. How have I missed your awesome list? I agree with Daph, you *must* read Jonathan Strange. It's a bit of a commitment, but it's such a gorgeous piece of work. It took me a couple of chapters to get into it, but it was well worth the time and effort.

I could say the same thing about Drood too.

I'll look forward to some of your reviews! Happy reading!

  23. **Brie: I am hoping to make some progress on series with this challenge...

    **Darren: Thanks!

**Kate: I read 50 pages in Jonathan Strange last night. I am thinking that I might try and read it in September and Drood in October... The space taking those two books taking off my TBR will make would totally make the challenge for me. :)

  24. You never finished the Gardella Vampire books? I would LOVE to read those again for the first time…they were so good!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. **Chris: I know! Shame on me... The last two came out when I moved in with the cc, so they got buried and I started reading mainly from the library. Now that I have some of my books here they were some of the ones I resurrected. :)

  26. I'm impressed with how many series you have going that fit RIP! How many series do you have going altogether anyway? Too many to count? :P

Hope you love every single book you read for RIP, Kelly!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. **Debi: Well, I put them all on FictFact, so I COULD count, but I haven't yet...

  28. I like the look/sound of your list! Most of it is new to me, but I do recognise Feist and Gaiman, and of course, Susanna Clarke! Hope you have a lovely autumn reading session!

    ReplyDelete
  29. You've got some awesome books in your pile! I especially like the look of your Reading Swap books. I've read all but two of them, and they were fantastic. THE WOMAN IN WHITE is currently my favourite classic.

    ReplyDelete
  30. **Risa: Both Gaiman and Feist are good authors, so I look forward to reading them.

**Memory: I really must read The Woman in White!
