Week in Review (3)

Random Thoughts
I am a bit behind on everything because I spent the weekend having a Project Life a-thon with Trish and Debi. I fell behind last year. I put all the pictures in the album as of midnight. I still have lots of tweaking to do, but I still am so happy with myself! I may share pictures... Maybe... It is a rushed job frankly and it is not to my standards. I will hopefully be a perfectionist in 2014 instead. I have so much stuff left over from 2013 that it will be a nice mixture in 2014. I still need a few things, but I think I have earned it!

Lucy Maud Montgomery Year
I planned to be finished Anne of Green Gables by now, but I didn't really listen to an audiobook all weekend. I will definitely finish this week and cross another Montgomery off my list. I did finish the first short story collection, though!

Graphic Novel Year
I didn't read much this week because of other stuff going on. So, no graphic novels!

Other Reading Projects
I finished Barrayer by Lois McMaster Bujold. That works for my goal to finish a Bujold regularly. I am hoping to get to more of her, Pratchett, and Robb this year.

Challenge News
Barrayer by Lois McMaster Bujold counts for the Long-Awaited Reads Month and the Sci-Fi Experience.

Audiobooks
I am very close to finishing Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery. I am really liking it on audio and am glad I am rereading it this year!

Currently Reading

Abaddon's Gate by James. S.A. Corey
Waiting for Columbus by Thomas Trofimuk

And technically other stuff but not a lot of reading this week...

Weekly Reading

Pantomime by Laura Lam - I loved this! Review soon!

I am loving this series and can't wait for more! Review soon.

I didn't expect to be blown away by this so I wasn't disappointed. Review soon.

  1. An L M Montgomery year sounds fun! I read and loved The Blue Castle but haven't got to Anne yet. Looking forward to your review of Pantomime. I remember noting it down a while ago to read but forgot about it until now.

  2. That's how I approach LMM's short stories, too. But I think if I'd been reading them back in the day, I might have felt differently.

  4. I am perpetually behind in everything--at least that is always how I feel! I hate to say I am glad I am not alone, but I am glad I am not alone! I have a graphic novel on the go--I am sure I could read it in one sitting, but as I tend to 'graze' at books it takes me forever to finish anything at all!

  5. My son finished Abaddon's Gate last night. He may have stayed up after his bedtime to finish it too. He was thoroughly impressed. I'm just happy because it is the first book outside of school reading he's finished in quite some time.

    Have a great week!

  6. I love Anne of Green Gables! How are you challenging yourself for the GN Challenge? Or are you? I didn't join since I can't figure out a way to make the challenge a "challenge".

  7. I loved the Anne of Green Gables series when it was on PBS many, many years ago, but I've never read the book. Isn't that a shame?! Glad you finished your scrapbook. Storing those memories is such a special thing to do.

  8. Aren't audio-books great?! It's such a handy way to get more *reading* done.

  9. I've never read Anne of Green Gables, isn't that sad. I downlaoded her work though.

  10. LOL--you didn't read much this week but finished three books...finishing three books would be a banner week for me! :P Btw, I loved what you said about the short story collection-->"I didn't expect to be blown away by this so I wasn't disappointed." For some reason, that just really made me smile.
And Kelly, you already know my thoughts on the matter, but I'm going to repeat myself anyway--do share some pics of your Project Life!!!

  12. Yay for more Bujold. Love her Vorkosigan books so much!

I glommed the LMM short stories when I discovered them one year - I think you've to be in the "right" mood for them.

  13. I'm so behind on everything too. I had after work events two evenings in a row and so I was late getting home and now my inbox is crazy, haven't had a chance to visit blogs, have not done a lot of reading... you get the picture :)

I say you still did great managing to finish three books! Yay! You've got to tell us more about your Project Life. I am sort of tempted to give it a go one day.
