Week in Review - Week 3

Life

Well, things have been busy this week and I didn't really get as much accomplished as I would have liked. I almost didn't get this post finished and then I would have broke my over one year streak of posting every Sunday. This week is going to be a catch up week. I can tell all ready. I am reading, but not like I would like to be. If you are a graphic novel or audiobook, I have time for you, but all the longer works I have book marks in are being mostly neglected. I just can't seem to find time to settle in and read lately.

Currently Reading

I was really liking this book, but been a couple days since I sat down with it.

Audiobook

I am really enjoying this series, but slowed down a bit in my listening. I should finish this today actually.

Weekly Reading

A-Force - Volume 1 ~ I read Volume 0 of this series last year and enjoyed the grouping of female superheroes. Female comics don't seem to last, so I was glad they decided to keep this one going after Secret Wars ended. I decided if I was going to keep Marvel Unlimited then I needed to actually get to more comics, so I expect 2017 will be a comic filled year! Recommended!

Murder of Crows (The Others, Book 2) ~ After reading book one in this series as my first official audiobook of 2017, I decided to move on to this one because I all ready had it in my audiobook library. (And, I actually owned book 1 and 2 in this series in hardcover, so it moved two books off my TBR!) A series about a human with the ability to predict the future living with a group of Others in a place called The Courtyard, this series is really working for me. The narration is really good, too, and I am looking forward to more in the series! Strongly recommended!

Ms Marvel - Volume 5: Super Famous ~ I read Volume 6 of this series thinking that I had read Volume 5 last year. oops! So, I backtracked and now I am successfully caught up in the series and figured out what I was missing with Volume 6 because I skipped a comic. I really enjoy this series and I am glad that it continues to be successful. I look forward to more in the series likely later this year. Recommended!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D - Volume 1: The Coulson Protocols ~ Continuing with my plan to actually use Marvel Unlimited more this year, I picked this series randomly and checked it out. I have read other comics in this series, but this is a new one that is more closely mirrored off the show. Or, at least it says it is. I have not really watched the show. It is not my favourite series, but it is always readable, so I enjoyed my time with it. Recommended!

Hawkeye - Volume 5: All-New Hawkeye ~ I don't think I read the issues after this volume, so I did a quick reread before moving on to Volume 6, or whatever it is numbered as, but didn't get a chance to really read them this week. Look for them next week! I always enjoy Hawkeye and this was a comic that flashed back to give us an idea of who he was and how he became the person that he is now. It also included Kate Bishop, who I really enjoy! Looking forward to more in this series. Recommended!

Drama by Raina Telgemeier ~ This book was randomly at the second hand bookstore when I popped in last week, so I decided it was time to finally read something by this author. This is not a book I have heard as much about as some of her other books, but I figured it was a chance to give her a try. It was fun! I enjoyed it and really must get more by her in the future. It also was a successful opportunity to read a book that entered my house in 2017 in 2017. That is a goal for this year! Recommended!

New Additions

Morning Glories - Volume 10 (Finally! I preordered this in February of 2016 and it kept getting delayed!)

  6. I feel the need to read another Atwood novel these days. Perhaps this one, perhaps a re-read of The Handmaid's Tale. Either way she is a great choice for your political activism turned on!
