Friday Friends - BBAW Edition

On Monday, the activity was to talk about your favourite blogs that did not make the short list. I wasn't going to participate because I find it really hard to narrow things down, but I have been meaning to bring this feature back for a while. I decided to combine the two and just post late. Some of the blogs I list were nominated for BBAW, but that's okay.

These are my top 50 blogs. I read 294 blogs all together (and counting) and I honestly cannot list all of them. So, I decided to go with fifty.

Okay, this was meant to be my top 50, but I apparently can't count, so instead this is my top 55. I was musing over the list and it is an interesting assortment. Some of those blogs I have been reading for years, while others I just discovered this year! And, you know, limiting it was very hard. I feel bad because I left off a lot of really great blogs that I have been reading forever, but I had to be a bit harsh or I would be here all day! If you want to know why, just wait for future Friday Friends. Some of those blogs have all ready been mentioned, but others you will hear about in the future!

Friday Friends - Week Seven

As I announced on here, I recently joined the land of Twitter. As a result, I have discovered even more book bloggers! This has meant that they follow me on Twitter, I follow them, and supposedly I read their blogs. What really happens is I use Twitter and often 'mark all as read' in blogland. I decided to make this weeks Friday Friends a list of the blogs I have discovered through Twitter. Since I suck at reading and commenting lately, hopefully they will get new readers to make up for me being so slack!

Bibliofreak - This blog is only a couple days new to me. I was exploring earlier and it looks like one I will enjoy!

Booking Mama - For some reason my feed program has me subscribed to this blog twice. Good ole technology!

BookNAround - Another blog that I just found. I was exploring this one earlier, too!

In the Shadow of Mt. TBR - A blog title that I could easily use, too! I had actually heard of this blog before, but I apparently only just started reading it...

MariReads - A blog I discovered just as she went to Scotland for a couple weeks. I'm jealous!

One Literature Nut... - I thought I was reading this blog, but discovered today that I was not. This is why not actually reading blogs can be a problem!

Online Publicist - Lots of good stuff going on at this blog. It seems to include book giveaways... Obviously a reason to read!

Presenting Lenore - She is giving away a copy of Mary E. Pearson's new book... Good reason to head over there and then stay!

Puss Reboots: A Book Review a Day - She will be guest blogging on my blog in August. A Music Munday post, so watch for that! (I don't waste time, huh?)

Today's Adventure - A new (to me) Canadian blogger. If you have been reading these posts, you would know that matters to me!

There we go. Ten new (to me) blogs for you to enjoy! Now, if you will excuse me, I got the latest book in Susan Carroll's Dark Queen series in the mail and want to go see what happens! Have a good Friday everyone!

Friday Friends - Week Six

Alice Teh from Hello, My Name is Alice - Alice is a new-to-me blogger. She was commenting on my blog, but apparently I forgot to add her to my feed reader! I really enjoy her blog so far. She talks about books, food, and other interesting topics. What more can you ask for? I am glad that I am reading her blog regularly now. (Well, regularly for me, anyway...)

Bluestocking from The Bluestocking Guide - I think I started reading this blog after the most recent Advent Calendar. There is so much going on there that it can be a bit of an information overload at times. I applaud how organized she is! Lately it is all I can do to update a couple times a week. I am always in a hurry. I think my favourite feature on her blog is Sci-fi Fridays. I love the books that she showcases and it keeps reminding me that I need to do more of that type of reading!

Pat from Here, There, and Everywhere 2nd edition - I have been reading Pat's blog for quite some time now. I think I discovered it through one of Carl's challenges. She is a fantasy nerd like me, so you know that I stuck around. She reads such great books and is always adding things to my TBR pile. Recently she was showcasing the water life at the pond near her house. She takes fabulous pictures! Pat is one of my favourite bloggers and one of the nicest people. The blogging world is lucky to have her.

Dewey from The Hidden Side of a Leaf - What's a list of blogs without Dewey? Unfortunately, I cannot get her blog to work... Dewey has done so much for the blogging community, and even with her passing her work lives on. Many of the blogs that I have showcased in these Friday Friends posts I discovered through the most recent Read-a-thon, which was in Dewey's honour. I believe that Dewey will always be missed.

Nat from In Spring it is the Dawn - Okay, I think I can safely say I have been reading this blog forever! I don't remember a time when I wasn't. A fellow Canadian who now makes her home in Japan. She has a great blog. I enjoy her book reviews, photos, and hearing about her adventures in Japan. Another blog that the community is lucky to have!

Melanie from The Indextrious Reader - Another blog that I have been reading for quite a while. Another Canadian blogger, too. I like to support my Canadian bloggers, huh? She is a librarian, so she seems to find all the really interesting books. While she does read some of the stuff that other people are reading, she always seems to find 'different' things to talk about. I don't mind hearing about popular books, but I also like to go off the beaten path once in a while. Reading, for me, is all about experimentation. Melanie has a blog that you should be reading if you are not already.

Suey from It's All About Books - Suey is the co-host of the Printz Project, one of the many challenges that I belong to this year. I was just checking the library website and I have five Printz books in for me. I was lacking a bit on this challenge, so felt I needed to get reading! Anyway, Suey is such a nice person and has a great blog. My favourite feature of hers is when she posts her best of lists. The subjects range, but when it is book related you know that things are going to end up on your wish list! She is an all-around great blog to be reading.

Joanna from It's all about me - I am not really sure how I came across Joanna's blog. It is possible that she found me first, but I have been reading it for a while now. It's quickly become one of my favourite blogs, so I try and check it regularly (not this week, though..). I notice she just listened to an audio version of Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely and enjoyed it. This is why I read blogs, because I like pretending people read things because of my recommendations! (haha, I mean, when I actually write reviews...) Anyway, another blog that you should be reading!

Kate from Kate's Book Blog - Kate has another blog that I have been reading for a while. She got a bit quiet for a while, there, but she is back and I am happy to see her! She just celebrated four years of blogging and I hope that she will be around for at least another four. She has a great blog. She talks about the books that she is reading, but she also includes quotes and other book-related topics to enjoy. The blogging community was a sad place while she was on hiatus, so be sure and visit her so we can make sure she sticks around!

Kristina from Kristina's Book Blog - Kristina is yet another blog that I have been reading a for a while and long ago forgot how I can across it. She recently became a new mother, so her blog has been a bit quiet. I am happy to hear from her when she posts, though. I hope all is well with you, Kristina, and that your life calms down so you can blog a bit more soon! Although, I think you comment on my blog sometimes... See, this is why I keep applauding organized people because I can't even remember who comments on my blog and who doesn't!

Friday Friends - Week Five

I started this post at 6:30 this morning. I really thought I stood a chance of having it up at a decent time, but then there was a pluming incident and the c.c. is at work. Sort of changed my afternoon!

Anyway, here are this weeks Friday Friends:

Debbie from Debbie's World of Books - I first started reading Debbie's blog because she commented on mine. Her blog is both a wealth of information and a great place for book reviews. I learn a lot visiting and she winds up adding things to my wish list on a regular basis! A blog that I am very happy to be reading!

Jen from Devourer of Books - Jen is one of the blogs I started reading because of the most recent Dewey's Read-a-thon. I also know her through Twitter, which is a recent join for me. She's a really nice person who just was blessed with her first child yesterday. She was attempting to read a book a day in the days leading up to the birth and I think she did a pretty good job. So, congrats Jen! To everyone else, you should visit her blog if you are not already.

Bellezza from Dolce Bellezza - I am not sure when I started reading this blog. I think it might be one of the ones that I was reading but not commenting on for a while. I try and say something once in a while now. Most recently she reminded me that I really need to get around to reading George R.R. Martin. The first book in his series has been on my TBR pile forever! I planned to wait for the newest one to come out, but I think I should probably get started considering how long it takes me to get around to series reads. I also really like the name of this blog.

Bethany from dreadlock girl reads - Another blog that I basically started reading with regularity after the Read-a-thon. She did a vlog with a chicken that I really enjoyed and I stuck around! It's a blog I feel I should have been reading anyways. Bethany has been reading the Anne of Green Gables novels. I wish sometimes that I could read them all over again and have it be the first time. Instead, I really should reread them, but I keep saying that and never actually do it. Still, a great place to visit. Plus, I just won a book over there! That is always a bonus.

Heather from Errant Dreams Reviews - I have been reading Heather's blog for at least a couple years now. I cannot even remember how I stumbled upon it. It's another of those blogs that I lurk more than comment, but I do still read! She reads a vast spectrum of books, so there is really something for everyone over there. A great blog for you to check out.

Esther, Nic, and Victoria Eve's Alexandria - Like the blog above, this is a blog that I have been reading for a while, but I don't seem to comment with any regularity. It is still a good read, though. I think I was drawn to it because of the title in the beginning. I have always had an interest in Alexandria, so I was interested in a blog that shared its name. The three ladies there read a lot of different books, so again, something for everyone! I am glad that I gave it a read back in the beginning.

Ex Libris - This is a blog that I have been reading for a while, too. I think the name might have been the starting point, but I found that I really liked this blog and stayed around to read it. Almost everything that she has read this year has ended up on my wish list. She reads a widespan of different genres, too. She is really good for reading books that don't get a lot of press, so I might not have heard of them otherwise. If you are not reading her blog, you should remedy that now!

Shannon C. from Flight Into Fantasy - I have no idea how, but I missed this blog for quite some time! It has a title that really calls to me because fantasy is pretty much my favourite genre. I am glad that I discovered her blog now and enjoy reading her posts. I spent most of my life knowing very few people that actually read fantasy, so now everytime I find someone new I get very excited by the concept. I used to feel like I was the only one that was doing it, so that is why the blogging world has been so helpful. Another blog to check out!

JCR from Frequency of Silence - Yet another blog that I have been reading for quite sometime. I also really like the name. This blog talks about a lot of things that make a person think. It also has a really cool backgroud. A blog about the important things in life. And, there is of course the fact that my blog is considered a 'hip place'.

Fyrefly's Book Blog - Another blog that I just discovered recently and am very happy to have! It is quickly becoming one of my favourite blogs. She is very organized like I wish I was. It is quickly becoming apparent that we read a lot of the same sort of books, so I am enjoying the book recommendations. Fyrefly is also the creator of the Book Blog Search Engine, which is missing from my sidebar after the blog makeover. I will have to remedy that. A blog that I plan on reading for the long-haul.

As to the button, sorry I never answered those that offered! I am not picky, really. I was thinking about Friendship balls, maybe, with the writing 'Friday Friends'. I am not sure if Friendship balls are universal, though. I just thought it would make a pretty background.

Friday Friends - Week Four

Okay, so I didn't have much blogging time this week... Sorry! Here is this weeks picks for Friday Friends. I was supposed to have a button, but I haven't actually answered Nymeth and she asked me what I wanted a week ago. Oops! Next week!

Aarti from Booklust - Aarti is a online friend that I have known since before she started blogging. She had a quiet year last year, but her blog has been pretty active so far this one. She reads a good assortment of books, but mainly fantasy and historical fiction. You can probably tell why we are friends! I have many books on my TBR pile that I can trace back to Aarti. She has great taste in books and is a really nice person. Everyone should visit her blog.

Darla D. from Books & other thoughts: This is a blog that I just started reading recently. I have no idea how I missed it! I consider Darla one of my newly discovered reading twins. She has such great taste in books and is doing terrible things to my wish list! We have also read a lot of the same books and we generally seem to have the same taste. I am very happy that I have started reading this blog, it has been worth it!

Leila from Bookshelves of Doom - A very awesome blog that mainly centres around young adult. I think I have been reading this blog for quite some time, but I don't comment all that often. She is who is to 'blame' for me reading Melissa Marr, though, and she has led to lots of other books being added to my wish list. She is also a really fun blogger, so her posts are always entertaining in some capacity. A great blog to read!

Naida from the bookworm - I am not sure what led me to reading Naida's blog, but she is yet another one that I think I have only started reading regularly recently. She just got a new puppy and the posts about him are very enjoyable! She also talks about books, of course, but since most of the blogs showcased are book blogs, I feel I should try and find something else to talk about once in a while!

Bookwormom - A delightful blog that I think I probably started reading because of the Advent Calendar... I think? I had read her blog off and on before, but I think I only started reading it regularly this year. Another blogger that enjoys fantasy, so it was natural that I stuck around. Everyone that reads my blog should read hers because in her profile she says: "She who dies with the most books wins!" I love that, so fitting, huh? I also wish it was true... It would get rid of some of the guilt!

Katrina from Callapidder Days - A couple years back I participated in the 'Spring Reading Thing', which Katrina hosts. I haven't participated the last couple years, but I still read her blog! I have to laugh because her son actually comments on her blog when it becomes quiet. I need someone to inspire me to post sometimes! She writes about a lot of different things. I really enjoy her blog! Maybe I should do the Spring Reading Thing next year? Almost done for this year, hope everyone met their goals and/or had fun!

Wendy from Caribousmom - I think I was drawn to this blog in the beginning because of our shared love of dogs, but it also could be because of the Themed Reading Challenge. Do you know I am in that challenge this year and I entirely forgot about it until right this moment? Oops! Anyway, sadly Caribou passed away, but she has a new puppy that is so cute. It makes me want a dog! (The cc doesn't agree...) She also posts great reviews and posts about other shiny book related things. A blog that you should be reading if you are not already!

Deb from Chappysmom - I can't even remember how I came across this blog, but I have been reading it forever! It was her monthly reading posts that got me interested because she read so much! I owe so many books to Deb, so I am a big fan of her reading! She is also a dog lover, so that's always a good thing. She posts pretty much everyday and it is always something interesting. I am not a big fan of knitting and other things along that line, but I still enjoy reading her posts!

Charlotte from Charlotte's Library - I started reading this blog because she commented on mine and I stuck around! She reads a lot of books that I want to read, so she is always good for recommendations. Yes, another fantasy fan! I am a big fantasy reader, okay? She posts regularly, which is more than I can say sometimes, and she always has content that you want to read about! If you aren't reading her blog, you should give it a try!

Clare from Confessions of Book Addict - Clare is another blogger that I have known forever! She is a huge fantasy fan and I know that I have read tonnes of books because of her! Back when I first met her she gave me a list of authors to try, so I know that reading Anne Bishop dates back to her. Her reviews, because she has a blog now, continue to add to my pile! I am always so excited when I see a new post from her. It might not always be something I want to read, but more often than not it is. She is another reading twin and another really nice person!

Friday Friends - Week Three

Okay, I'm ready now! Here are the ten blogs for this Friday.

Coversgirl at Between the Cover - This is a blog that I have been following for a while. She can be best summed up by her profile blurb: "Book addict, earring fancier, creative dabbler, self-flattering self-portraitist, scientist by training, armchair historian by inclination". With all her talents it is a wonder that she has any time to blog! She writes fun posts and reads good books. A blog to keep on the radar.

Cat at Beyond Books - This is a new to me blogger that I discovered by following comments on Sassymonkey's blog one day. We read a lot of the same stuff, so I find that she is very good for book recommendations! Another fellow Canadian, too, which seems to be rather important to me, huh? Anyway, she has a feature called 'Out of my Pocket' where she shares all of the books that she has bought, she does 'Waiting on Wednesday' posts that put new releases on your radar, and she writes really good reviews. I am very happy that I stumbled on her blog.

Jean Pierre from bombastic bagman - JP has a lot going on his life, but when he has time to blog he is worth reading! His most recent post was about a job promotion, so I offer my congrats to him for that. When I participated in Secret Santa two years ago, I drew his name and it was almost like I was there when he was opening my cool gift. A very fun blogger!

Bonnie from Bonnie's Books - I have 'known' Bonnie for a really long time in computer years. I knew her before either of us had blogs, actually. I met her through online book clubs. Then, we both started blogging and I am still reading her blog to this day. She has a great header over there right now, actually. She is very organized and talks about a diverse amount of reading issues. She also was looking at Books Around the World, too, which was a fun idea. She just recently started blogging again, so it is nice to have her back!

Melissa from Book Nut - Somewhere along the lines Melissa became one of my favourite blogs. I am not even sure when I started reading her, but this year I find that I am paying more and more attention to her blog. It is just one of those things that happens, I guess. She is great for book recommendations, for starters. She also writes really good reviews in a much more timely fashion than I have ever been capable of! I find that it is the organized bloggers that I love. Maybe because I am so disorganized at the best of times!

Joanne the Book Zombie - This is another blog that I really just started reading in the last few months. I have no idea how I missed it before! I think maybe I thought I was reading it all along, but then when I checked I discovered I was very mistaken! I am glad that has been remedied, though. Joanne is a very fun blogger, so you really should be reading her blog if you are not already. She has this 'thing' for zombies, though, that I do not share. I think that is our only disagreement so far. We leave actually like 40 minutes from each other, so hopefully one of these days we are going to do a meet and greet!

Chris from book-a-rama - Chris is another Canadian blogger that I think I knew of before blogging... My memory is terrible! I'm sorry Chris! What I do remember is that she lives in the same province as me. Yay! Anyway, Chris is hosting the eco-challenge right now, which I really should have joined, but didn't. I think it is a great idea, though. She also has lots of other great features on her blog that you should check into. Head on over and see all the great books that she has read this year! She is a really nice person, so you won't regret it at all!

Bookfool from Bookfoolery and Babble - I really don't even know where to start with this blog. There is so much going on that it is not very easy to sum it up in a few short lines! Bookfool has to be about the happiest blogger out there, which is something that shines through in her posts. She reads great books, writes great reviews, and takes fantastic pictures! That's just the beginning, though. Everyday that you open up her blog to read you are in for a treat. This is one of the blogs that I have been following the longest, and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I think most people have already had the privilege, but if you have somehow missed this blog you should remedy it now!

Iliana from Bookgirl's Nightstand - While I am not always a great commenter, I know for a fact that I have been reading this blog for a very long time! I remember back when I first started reading it she had already been around for a while, so I spent a lot of time going through her archives. I stuck around! I even comment on her blog now, which is probably a good thing! (Well, maybe.) Anyway, Iliana is one of those people that you know if you have the chance to meet her, you will love her. Her sweet personality comes across in all of her posts. I am very glad that I have chanced upon this blog and think that everyone that doesn't read her should!

Sherid from Bookie - I think this blog is like 'Stephenie Meyer' central. If you want to know what is going on in that franchise, she is on top of it! This is yet another blog that I have been reading for while, and even though she drops off the blog-radar once in a while, when she reappears it is always with a good post! She also has great post titles. She should write some for me because I never know what to call my posts!

Well, I guess that is ten! I actually considered just carrying on because I was having fun, but I don't want to be too overwhelming! So, I guess you will have to wait for the rest next week. Have a good weekend everyone and visit these blogs!

By the way... I am not gifted in the graphics... Anyone want to make me a picture to accompany these posts seeing as how they are becoming weekly? I would really appreciate it!

Friday Friends - Week Two

Okay, so last week seemed to work out well. These are my picks for this week!

A Reader's Journal - I have been reading Booklogged's blog for a really long time! It's one of my favourite blogs, actually. I think because next time she comes to the east coast (of Canada) she has to visit me, and if I stop reading her blog she might forget! (I'm just kidding! Well, not about the visiting me part!) She does write really to-the-point reviews, though, which is nice when I am behind on my blog reading (which is almost always) and she is a really nice person! (She has left me nice comments on my blog over the years.) This is totally a blog that you should be reading if you are not already!

A Striped Armchair - I have only recently started reading this blog, so not a lot to say yet. It seems I started reading the blog when she took an unintentional blogging vacation. I have read her blog off and on since she started blogging, but for some reason kept forgetting to add it to my feed reader. Now, it is there, and I enjoy the diversity in her reading. Sadly, though, she has a better library than I do because everything that she reads that I want to, I can't get!

A Work in Progress - I have been reading this blog for a really long time, too! Danielle is great for the addition to the TBR pile and her list-making. I have several of her lists bookmarked for when I need some recommendations! She reads all over the board, has a TBR pile that I like to think makes mine look small, and writes really great posts! I think most people are reading her blog, but if you have somehow missed it, go remedy that now!

An Adventure in Reading - Another Canadian book blogger. Raidergirl (yes, I know her real name. No, I can't think of it at the moment. Yes, that's nothing new! I had the same problem with booklogged... ) is the host of 'It's Tuesday, Where are You?' and the co-host of the Bookword Game. Both fun ideas! I think, anyways. One of the reasons I was drawn to her blog is that she reads a lot of the great Canadian fiction that, you think I am going to say I read, too, right? WRONG! It's the books I want to read and haven't got around to yet. That being said, I think it probably works both ways. Truthfully, she is a Douglas Coupland fan, so really, I think we are both accomplished Canadian readers because he is a very good Canadian author, right? So, yeah, read her blog and not my ramblings!

Avidbookreader.com - Another blog that I have been reading for a really long time! Keishon is the host of this blog and I think she does a very good job! She writes both book reviews and articles that are usually pretty interesting. We might not always have the same taste in books, but she does make me consider stepping out of my comfort zone from time to time. She has also been telling me to read Megan Whalen Turner, and I finally did! I have the second book out from the library at the moment, so I plan to carry on. I also plan to review book one in this century because I don't think I have yet! Another blog that if you are not reading, you should be!

Back to Books - I am afraid to report that I think Nicola was reading my blog way before I got around to reading hers regularly. Bad me, huh? She does have a wonderful blog! She is ten times more organized with book reviews than I am, that's for sure. And, she reads a lot of great books! I can thank her for introducing me to Darren Shan, for example. (Which I promise to read more of as soon as my library understands that I don't want the first book in the series... We are slowly getting there, but really, how hard is it to understand that the website says book five and they keep sending me book one?) I find Nicola's reading can be very similar to mine, which is good, because if she reads a book I was considering getting I will decide what to do based on her review. She hasn't steered me wrong, yet!

Bart's Bookshelf - I started reading this blog because I kept seeing it around. It's actually right up my alley, so I have no idea how I missed it before! Then, there is the whole fact that he reads my blog despite the fact I tend to look like I have a few screws loose when I comment on his blog... Anyway, a fellow fantasy/science-fiction reader and reviewer. What's not to draw me to this blog! Plus, you have a couple days left to enter his giveaway and win FREE BOOKS! Yes, that's the magic words, right?

Becky's Book Reviews - Becky is my partner for the Nerds Heart YA event of the summer! Yay! A lot of blogs have talked about this lately, but I will direct you to Vasilly, who will direct you to two give-aways and a post about the event. This is called being lazy, right? I like to think of it as time-saving. Anyway, Becky is a reading machine! She reads so many good books it boggles the mind! I really like reading her reviews and seeing what books I want to add to my TBR pile, because, really, it happens all the time so you should just expect it. You never know, she might beat Nymeth in bad bloggers this time around... Anyway, a great blog hosted by a great person. A must read!

Bermudaonion's Weblog - I think I started reading her blog because she read mine and commented... Or, maybe I just see her comment all over the place! I only started reading her regularly since the 24-read-a-thon, so that does not exactly make me a great expert on her blog. I will say that I really enjoy reading it, though! There is always a lot going on and she documents it so well. This is a blog that I am looking forward to reading more regularly!

Beth Fish Reads - Another blog that I am still new at reading, but I am enjoying it so far! Beth is currently listening to the Study trilogy by Maria Snyder. That is one of my favourite trilogies, so I am very happy to see that she is enjoying it! She also very good at reading and reviewing. I wish some of these people would rub off on me! Mind you, I don't think I would be me if I didn't complain about being behind on reviews, huh? Anyway, like the above blog, I am looking forward to reading this blog in more detail!

Is ten a good number? Too many? It takes forever to write the little blurbs, but I really enjoy this feature!

Friday Friends - Week One

Okay, so I am apparently on 'Operation: Find Ways to Avoid Reviews'. That is not surprising, huh? Anyway, I was thinking how far behind I get in blog-reading. I spend a lot of time attempting to catch-up, but people still manage to get ahead of me! So, I decided that on Friday I am going to talk about five to ten blogs that I read. It might not be every Friday, but we will see what happens! It is just a chance to give these blogs some recognition, introduce people to other blogs, and show that I do, in fact, enjoy your blog even if I can vanish off the commenting sphere!

I am going in order of my Bloglines feeds... Well, to start. It could change!

1330v - Vasilly (Natasha) is one of my 'blogging friends'. Meaning, we supposedly read books together (man, I suck at that project) and we talk off-blog. So, I can safely say that she is one of the nicest people I know! I have a hard time actually up-dating my blog; while she somehow manages to read, go to school, raise her children, AND update her blog! She reads a wide-range of books. What really annoys me about her is that she keeps posting book reviews of books that I cannot find copies of! Yes, terrible, I know! She is of course doing it on purpose! ha ha! The best thing about her is that her library pile usually resembles mine, so I don't feel so alone! In all seriousness, if you are not reading her blog, you are missing out!

1morechapter.com - Michelle has a blog that I feel like I have been reading forever! I couldn't even tell you when it all began, but I am sure that she could. According to the top commenter section, I apparently comment a lot. That makes me feel like there is at least one blog I manage to visit regularly! Anyway, Michelle talks about a wide-range of books. I trust her for book recommendations because the books she recommends, if I have read them, I consider them a favourite, too! Her blog is also very organized. There is lots to see besides the reviews. I was just looking at the 'Recent Visitors' portion and shaking my head over that programs inability to figure out where I live. They have the province right, but you wouldn't believe the range in the more specific places! Anyway, I got off-topic... Michelle's blog is one, I think, I have been following since the very beginning and I am not disappointed! If you aren't reading it, you should remedy that!

a Fair Substitute for Heaven - Okay, Rachel, even though you actually blog more regularly at another blog, I still think of this as your 'home' blog. So, I am going to talk about this one, okay? What can I say about Rachel! She is the one that I randomly message and say: 'What should I read?' and she gives me back awesome recommendations! She is also the ghost commenter on my blog that never logs in, but offers helpful opinions anyway! Rachel is who led me to Jolted by Arthur Slade and Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy! What is not to love when she reads such great books? (Yes, Rachel, I am over my jealousy that you have an ARC of the new Landy book. ha ha!) She is also a fellow Canadian, so that just makes her cool in general!

A Fondness for Reading: Robin's blog. I think I only started regularly reading Robin's blog because she is one of the co-hosts for the Dewey reading challenge. This is another thing I should write down... Anyway, it is has been a short time, but a great time, reading her blog. I mean, you go to her blog and see her header, which is pretty flowers, and her quote: 'A fondness for reading must be an education in itself' (Jane Austen), and you know that you have came to the right place! Robin is feeling the crunch from it being the end of semester, so be sure to go over and show her some love!

A Garden Carried in the Pocket - First up, is that not a great title for a blog? I really enjoy it! This blog is so great! If I was a more-organized person, I would want to be her. She has all these projects on the go that are for her betterment, and she is actually successfully completing them! If I set project goals, I am lucky I accomplish half of them! Jen also reads fantasy novels, so I think that is why I started paying attention to her blog. She read a series that looked really good by an author that I have never read before, and I stuck around. Where I heard of the blog is the first place is anyones guest. (Did I mention I was disorganized?) Another blog that is very worthwhile reading. It will give you hope that you can be organized, too!

A High and Hidden Place - I can safely say that I have been reading Heather's blog since I started blogging. You were blogging first, right, Heather? Okay, so I guess I cannot safely say... Anyway, Heather is great! Do you know why? She is the one that inspired me to read Fables! Yes, that is the only reason! Okay, so not really, but I do quite like the series... I consider Heather one of my reading twins because if you go through her archives, you will find many books that I have read and enjoyed, too. We seem to have a similar taste in reading, so I know that when she loves a book it has to go on my TBR list. It is just that simple! And, did I mention she is the reason I read Fables?

A Journey Through my Music Collection - Vanessa is actually one of my friends in real life. We have known each other since junior high, so I suppose I have to be really nice in what I say because she can hurt me? (Kidding!) Anyway, I was very happy to see Vanessa started a blog. It makes so much sense that it is about music, because really, you cannot think of her without music! While there are crossovers, of course, it is safe to say that she is the music fanatic and her roommate is the movie fanatic. Then, there is me with my books! It's weird how that worked out. I have to admit I have many times not even heard of the CDs that she posted about on her blog, but that's nothing new. She does inspire me to listen to different stuff once in a while. Even if I am usually behind in the times... It's the actually listening that counts, right? Vanessa will be guest-blogging on my blog on Monday, so be sure and tune in!

A Life in Books - Lesley's blog is another blog that I have been reading since she started it. (She started blogging a month after me, actually.) Lesley writes really good reviews that almost always end up with more books being added to my wish list. I think it Bad Bloggers I have credited her with Castle Waiting, but she easily has added more to the list over the years. I just don't write things down... It is nothing against her! She is also another fellow Canadian. I have this thing with supporting Canadians. It shows up in my author choices, movie choices, and music choices... and bloggers, of course. Another blog that you should be reading!

A Patchwork of Books - Amanda is a blogger that I met back when I hosted a reading challenge. I read her blog everyday, but I think I am pretty quiet on the blogging front! She reads young adult books that always look really good. She has added plenty of books to my wish list. The quiet commenting stems from her posts on younger-readers books. I know it is common for adults to read books for the single-digit age, but not me! And, I don't have any young children. So, I read the posts, and log the information in my mind for future reference, but I don't really have anything to say. I still really enjoy reading her posts, though. You should read them, too!

A Piece of My Mind - I think I stumbled across Julia's blog quite by accident, and then I stuck around because she lives an hour away from me! I have definately seen Julia's blog evolve just in the last year. It is fantastic! She covers a wide-range of subjects and is so organized! She also showcases the talents of both her and her family, which I think it is a great touch! While I enjoy reading her because there is a local feel to her posts that I can relate to, she is also great to read wherever you live. If you are looking for some variety, than this is the blog for you!

Okay, that's it for this week! I should point out that as it stands now... I supposedly read 265 blogs. This is why I suck at commenting... It is also why I show-cased ten today. If I only did five we would never get anywhere! As it stands right now, I am not even out of the 'A's'.
