Lana Update

We took Lana to the vet today, and she had not improved. None of the methods that the vet offered seemed like they would be anything more than prolonging the inevitable, so we put her down. She was in rough shape, and it was just not worth it to her to try all these experiments and still end up back where we started. She will be missed. She was a great cat, and I really wish she could have had something that could have been cured.

How sad to start off 2007 in such a sad frame of mind.
What is worse is a suffering fur-baby ... you did the loving thing.

  11. Thank you to everyone for stopping by. I can't believe this had to happen twice in not even a month! I lost two cats prior to Lana, and Lana hit me way harder. She was so young, and they were in their teens. You prepare for the old ones to go, it is a shock when the young ones start. Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts. Hopefully it will be a while before I have to post about something like this again!

It is hard, though. Last year around this time I had 7 cats between two houses, and now I only have 4! Hard to believe.

She knows you did everything you could for her and that she was loved. Purrs and hugs from me and my "zoo" - Ronnie (dog), Toby, Oreo, Whitney and Twilight (cats).

Came here via Mailyn and was in the Christmas Advent - I'm so very sorry for your loss. It's hard enough to lose our pets of old age but to have to lose them when they are younger must be truly heart breaking.

I am so sorry, but I turned anonymous commenting off. I have had it from the very beginning, but that is how the spam is getting by my spam filter at the moment. If it is a big deal I will turn it back on and moderate all comments. I also changed moderation from older than 14 days to older than 7.
