A Week in the Life....
Well, February is not going much better than January in terms of reading and blogging, but I am still alive! I just am never home and when I am I have so many other things to do, I do not get a lot of time to sit down on the computer. I do visit blogs, but not in any sort of organized manner, and I usually am so far behind that I mostly read and hardly ever comment, but I do visit!
This week I decided to watch a few movies in my spare time. I watched The Astronaut Farmer, Pan's Labyrinth, Flags of our Fathers, The Zodiac, and I bought and watched Across the Universe. I had seen it before, but I really like that movie, so I of course had to watch it again. In honour of it, sort of, I actually sang at karaoke last night! I cannot sing, it is a well-known fact, but I am passable. Everyone thinks I do not sing because I am shy, but it is mostly just that I know I cannot sing. Anyways, I sang Hey! Jude. It was actually in tune, and I do know all the words, so I was proud of myself. And, I am not shy, so I was not even nervous. I was proud of myself, but I will likely not do it again. Singing is not really my thing. At least not in public! Today, I am battling a cold. I felt it coming on yesterday, so all I really did all day was sleep! Now I have no idea how I am going to sleep tonight, so instead I am reading. I just wanted to take a break and say hi!
A couple people have nominated me for the 'You Make My Day' award, so thanks to Bonnie and Clare! I was surprised to get it from anyone because my blog is pretty dead of late, so it is hard to make anyones day when there is nothing happening! So many blogs and their bloggers make my day, so it is very hard for me to choose!
Julia from A Piece of my Mind
Booklogged from A Reader's Journal
Jean Pierre from Bombastic Bagman
Bonnie from Bonnie's Books
Samantha from Book Minx
Chris from Book-a-rama
Bookfool from Bookfoolery and Babble
iliana from Bookgirl's Nightstand
Aarti from Booklust
sherid from Bookie
These are just some of the many people that deserve this award... I never even made it out of B... Yes, I cheated.
And, my friend has me listening to Meatloaf... off to it, then!
Anyways, I am hopefully going to write some reviews this week because I am going to an amazing thing called reading!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
I am so sorry, but I turned anonymous commenting off. I have had it from the very beginning, but that is how the spam is getting by my spam filter at the moment. If it is a big deal I will turn it back on and moderate all comments. I also changed moderation from older than 14 days to older than 7.

She's Alive!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you pop in here to give us all an update. Sorry reading hasn't been such an easy to get to diversion thus far in ought 8. I hope that changes for you soon.
I look forward to finally seeing Across the Universe now that it is out on DVD. LOVE Pan's Labyrinth.
Good to hear from you Kai! Karaoke, huh? I've only done it once and I was very drunk! You're much braver than me...I'd be nervous as hell without multiple drinks in me. I need to go get Across the Universe. Loved that movie but haven't bought the DVD yet! Hope your cold goes away soon :(
ReplyDeleteThanks, K! Karaoke. You're a brave girl. Nice to hear from you again.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you and you make my day too! Take care and hope that cold goes away quickly.
ReplyDeleteThanks for awarding it back to me, but before I get too excited, I'd better deliver this important message:
ReplyDeleteCome on over to Bonnie’s Books (http://bonniesbooks.blogspot.com/2008/02/awards-ceremony-dress-appropriately.html). Dress up because I’m having an awards ceremony complete with gala. And do bring along your acceptance speech, though the producers are asking that each person receiving an award please limit your speech to five minutes ... save your longer comments for your own blog, when you pass along the award(s).
Aw, thanks, Kailana! You make my day, too. I got a good laugh out of the fact you didn't get out of the B's. Well, that's one way to solve the ohmygoshIdon'tknowwhotochoose thing. :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, I doubt anyone will ever abandon you simply because you're having a busy month or two. Sometimes you just don't have time to post. We're here when you have the time!!!
Thank you so much, Kailana! And congratulations to you, too!
ReplyDeletewow! i'm surprised and very pleased with the nomination!
ReplyDeletethe reason why i am surprised is, like you, my presence on the internet has been rather sporadic since december now and when i have visited blogs i haven't always been able to comment.
thank you very much for the nomination. :)
glad to hear the karaoke went well and that you weren't nervous. i get nervous and i can't sing.
