Ask And I Guess I Provide

Okay, Susan and Debi both asked me for a list... I hate lists because it makes me feel boxed in, but I am going to do it anyways!

Books out from the library that would work for the Once Upon a Time Challenge:

The Winter Queen by Elizabeth Wein
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness
Gift of the Unmage by Alma Alexander
Nation by Terry Pratchett
Savvy by Ingrid Law
Little Brother by Cory Doctorow
Flora Segunda by Ysabeau Wilce
Ironside by Holly Black
Marked by P.C. Cast
Wolf Brother by Michelle Paver
Tender Morsels by Margo Lanagan
Changelings by Delia Sherman
The Dragon's Lair by Elizabeth Haydon
The Last Days by Scott Westerfeld
The Mysterious Benedict Society and Perilous Journey by Trenton Lee Stewart
The Rose and the Beast by Francesca Lia Block
The Thief by Megan Whalen Turner
Powers by Ursula K Le Guin
The Golden Phoenix by Michael Hornyansky
Foundling by D.M. Cornish

Non-fiction:
From the Beast to the Blonde by Marina Warner

On The Hold List:
Bones of the Dragon by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
Here, There be Dragons by James A. Owens
Playing with Fire by Derek Landy
Mister Monday by Garth Nix
Tom's Midnight Garden by Phillippa Pearce
100 Cupboards by Nathan Wilson
Dingo by Charles de Lint
Little (grrl) Lost by Charles de Lint
Little, Big by John Crowley

At my house.... Okay, that's just a scary pile to begin with! I want to read off my TBR pile, too, so yeah... This is why I didn't want to share! That's way too many books!

  1. I hate making lists too but many of the books I've been wanting to read (and one I have) are on your list.

  3. No, no, no...don't think of it as feeling boxed-in...it's just a jumping off point! So, now do you forgive me...I can't help it...I'm a list junkie.

Your TBR list is not scary. I think we all have lists like yours! I know I do. Debi's right, don't feel boxed-in. You can change your list at any time. Happy reading!

  7. Debi: Well, I hate taking books back to the library unread, so I will probably read most of these!

Becky: haha, thanks! It will probably get longer...

Vasilly: Happy reading to you, too! I will have to check out your list!

I'd add my voice to the choir of 'please don't feel boxed-in', but you're probably tired of hearing that. ^-~ I do appreciate you making the list to give a glimpse of what I might find on your blog during the coming three months, though. ^-^

Although I'm sad to say that, while many of them ring bells, Ironside is the only one I've read. (Little (grrl) Lost is one I might end up adding to my 'officially breaks the TBR-rules' list, though.)

    Happy reading!

  13. Don't be in a box! Though it sounds like you have a pretty big one with your list. I am also going to try to read what i already own or have on request at the library. Good Luck!

  14. Ohhh, there are some books on your list I hope you do read!!!

I am surprised to see Bones of the Dragon on your list.. have you read the dragonlance series??? I hope you have because I've put off sending for this book just because I've reread dragonlance enough times that I wonder if I can enjoy something with new characters by weis and hickman

  15. Cath: Well, I hope you discover some good authors and books through my reviews!

Melanie: Yes, it is a rather large box. I just don't do lists very well. :)

Deslily: I'll do my best reading! I have read a lot of the Dragonlance books. There is still the newish trilogy to read, but I don't think the third book is out in that yet, and if it is, it's not in paperback!

  18. No Anne Bishop or Naomi Novik?

I have Marked and Wolf Brother out from the library at the moment too, so let me know if you are interested in doing something together on one of those!

  19. Marg: Of course I have Novik and Bishop to read! lol I just didn't list the books that I own...

Sounds good on the Marked/Wolf Brother idea. I will email you about it.
