Bad Bloggers - Take Five

My library pile is getting just a little bit too big!

Here are the books that have to be picked up on Tuesday:

The Thief Queen's Daughter by Elizabeth Haydon - Point for Deslily
Messenger of Truth by Jacqueline Winspear - Point for Iliana and Danielle
Messenger by Lois Lowry - Point for Nymeth
Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy - Point for Rachel
The Planets by Dava Sobel - Point for Carl

Books I heard about on Author Blogs:
The Winter Prince by Elizabeth Wein
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

And then, Thursday was a really large pile... I also had to bring An Incomplete Revenge back unread. I had it for three weeks, but Messenger of Truth got lost or something. I just didn't have enough time to read both books in two days, so I have to wait until someone else reads it so I can have it back again!

Alice in Sunderland by Bryan Talbot - Point for Debi
Chobits Volume 1 by Clamp - Point for Chris
Peeps by Scott Westerfeld - Point for Nymeth
Worldweavers: Gift of the Unmage by Alma Alexander - Just Because
The Margarets by Sheri S. Tepper - I really like the cover...
The Fairy Chronicles Vol 1 & 2 by J.H. Sweet - Curiosity...
Fruit Basket Unltimat Edition 1 by Natsuki Takaya - Chris
Rose by Jeff Smith and Charles Vess - Point for Debi
Nation by Terry Pratchett - Point for Nymeth
Black Hole by Charles Burns - Point for Nymeth

This was supposed to be two posts, but I forgot to post the first half on Tuesday... I REALLY need to stay off the library website... And, this would've looked a lot nicer in two halfs. With them all together I look like a crazy person.

...ha! Ha! Ha!...I'm so glad I popped by your blog this evening - I really, really needed this laugh. This laugh and the gales of laughter I've already had over at your road rant.

  3. I love the books you brought home this time!!! I just got my copy of Planets that I won from Carl today! Doesn't it look cool? And the two mangas are excellent. Hope you enjoy them! BTW, the animes of both are really good too!

  5. Is The Margarets a new book by Sheri Tepper? Her book 'Grass' is one of my all time favourite sci fi stories, with The Gate to Women's Country following close on behind.

  6. Chris: Planets just happened to be sitting on the table when I went to pick up my holds, so I grabbed it. I hope the mangas are good. I am going to have to decide if I am going to continue on with them or not! I think it depends on what the library has.

Pat: I am looking forward to reading the two books that are out! The first book was a good read.

Cath: Well, I was on the new releases portion of the library website and they said it was new, but people have been checking the book out since 2007, so that is hardly a new book! I think I have another book by her on my TBR pile, but I have never read her before.

  7. Nation!!! I'm especially happy that you got that one. Have you read Terry Pratchett before?

You know, until recently I had somehow not heard of Sheri S. Tepper, but now I keep seeing her name everywhere! I added Beauty and The Gate to Women's Country to my wishlist earlier this week. I look forward to your review of The Margarets.

  8. Nymeth: I read Pratchett a few years ago. I haven't touched a book by him since, though, even though I own several.

I own Beauty by Sheri S. Tepper, I believe. Should probably read that before the library book!
