Science-Fiction Experience - Wrap-Up Post

I didn't really set any goals for the Science-Fiction Experience. I just read what interested me, I guess. There are still several books that I had hoped to read, but they never came in for me at the library. That's okay, though, because hopefully I will be reading more science-fiction during the coming year.

The Books Completed:
1. The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (reread)
2. The Starry Rift edited by Jonathan Strahan
3. Uglies by Scott Westerfeld (Uglies Series, Book 1)
4. Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry (The Giver Trilogy, Book 2)
5. Pretties by Scott Westerfeld (Uglies Series, Book 2)
6. Specials by Scott Westerfeld (Uglies Series, Book 3) (Review forth-coming)
7. Extras by Scott Westerfeld (Uglies Series, Book 4) (Review forth-coming)

My favourite read was probably Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. I love The Time-Traveler's Wife but since it was a reread I won't count it. As you can see, though, I loved Westerfeld. I read all four of the books in that series in February. That is pretty much unheard of for me!

  1. Hi Kailana - Just wanted to drop you a line from a fellow Canadian uni student (4th yr business - UBC, Van) - I just stumbled across your blog today, and I wanted to it is absolutely FANTASTIC (even if green isn't exactly my color).

I'm going to visit here more often to go more in depth into some of the content you have.

I love reading, but I've been out of it the last while (school, traveling South East Asia...) and was curious - what would you say would be your absolute best top 10 picks in: sci fi, fantasy and another genre of choice?

    Cheers,
    David

  3. David: Well, it's a little outdated, but this is my least from a few years ago. Anything more specific I would need to think about: 25 Favourite Books (So Far)

  4. I loved the Time Traveler's Wife, too. I'd like to reread it someday, and I think I'd be able to follow it a little better. It was a bit tricky for me to jump around in time like that, but I still thought that book was wonderful.

  5. Bellezza: Yes, it worked well to reread it. It filled in some of the things that I might have overlooked the first time around. I look forward to reading it again!

  8. I have yet to read The Time Travelers Wife. I keep on meaning to read it, but I keep putting it off.
Maybe this year, I'll get around to it. :)

    Happy reading,
