Bad Bloggers - First Week of May

I am having a 'screw the library pile' week and actually reading my own books! This means that a lot of books are likely going to be going back to the library on the 12th unread. I figure I will just request them again. My TBR pile is not getting any smaller because I am always bringing library books in! I will probably continue to bring books in, but I am not going to let myself feel guilty if I don't get around to reading them. I have so many books I want to read. I know now it is just impossible to read all of them...

Anyway, the library haul for this week:

Graceling by Kristin Cashone - FINALLY! I really want to read this. I am hoping this weekend... But since it isn't due back for a while, probably shouldn't.

The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery - Dewey point.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare - One of the TKers reviewed this book in like 2007. She hated it, I still get comments ALL the time, so I figured I would see what I think. I really need to do soemthing with TK... I hate to delete it, but I don't think I can run a group blog on my own.

Love is Hell by Melissa Marr & others... No real point.

Grim Tuesday by Garth Nix - Marg and continuing on with the series.

Off With Their Head by Maria Tater - Once Upon a Time Challenge. The other book I had out was too long to read from the library... or something... this one is shorter!

  1. I hit the library last night and brought home more books than I will ever be able to read - it's a serious problem I swear just because the books are there and free and feel this compulsion to bring them home!

I'd been waiting ages for Graceling to come in on my holds and it finally did ... then I ended up reading 2 graphic novels instead :P

  2. I can stop myself getting library books too. I don't even have time to read my own books! It's serious problem it is. I don't know how to fix it :P.

ps: I'm thinking to read Nation too for the Herding Cats challenge.

  5. Maria Tatar! I finished her The Hard Facts of the Grimm's Fairy Tales yesterday and it was excellent. Off with Their Heads sounds great too.

  7. I read 4 of the 24 library books I originally brought home in late February! they all ended up going back, some with fines for being overdue.

  8. I am intending to pick up the Cassandra Clare books!

In relation to TK, I would just leave it there and do nothing with it.

  9. Joanne: I always have way more library books out than I should. I could probably keep up, but then I can't read my own books. I decided I want to read my own books! I didn't start Graceling yet, either. I ended up with less reading time than I had planned on having.

Mee: I have the same problem. lol Nation was a good book. Hope you enjoy it!

Chris: Yeah, I need to have weeks like that once in a while or my TBR pile is never going to shrink!

Ana: Oh, really? That's the one that I want but the library doesn't have it. I will have to see what this one is like and think about purchasing the other one.

Pat: Glad I made you smile! I am looking forward to Graceling.

Susan: Yeah, I bring books back unread all the time. It used to really bother me when I had to, but now I just do it anyway!

Marg: The Cassandra Clare books look interesting. I don't know if the library intends to buy passed the first book, though.

  10. I also need to read Graceling. It looks really good, and I have it in the TBR of doom.

Cassandra Clare... I just don't know. She left a bad taste in my mouth from her days of writing fanfiction, and I'd really like to read someone's take on her that I trust which doesn't come from a place of, "Well, it's Cassandra Clare. Obviously, her books suck. Um, duh?" Because that's not so helpful. So I'm looking forward to your thoughts on the book, because I, too, have it in my TBR pile.
