Movies and Bad Bloggers - Another Week

I apparently forgot to update my blog yesterday. I was going to write a review, too! Oops! I have come to the conclusion that there are just not enough hours in a day. At the moment I have an hour to write this post, write a post for tomorrow, write a post for a guest blogging event, come up with questions for Heather for a buddy read, do the dishes, and have a shower. Then, I have to stop at the library to avoid late fees and pick up the books that are waiting for me. Hopefully at work tonight I have time to finish my buddy read with Heather because then... I have a lot of books that I really want to try and squeeze in this weekend! After work I am going to listen to a band, so I have to try and accomplish everything now because I won't even have an hour later. I had meant to do some of this yesterday, but I didn't really accomplish most of what I had planned for yesterday.

Okay, on with the post! Haven't been watching very many movies lately, so at least that will be short.

Australia- Is it just me or did this movie go on and on and on? I kept thinking that it was over and it kept going! I was watching it with the cc and he had to go to work, but we just kept thinking it has to be almost over. It was a good movie, though. It was just the type that could have been over about ten times and wasn't. In the end it all worked out, but when you are watching it for the first time you really do not know what else they could possibly have to squeeze in.

Revolutionary Road - We watched this last night. I wanted to see it because I really like Kate Winslet. I haven't decided if I liked it or not. At the end the cc said there was really no point to the movie. I think we were both expecting a different movie. It wasn't terrible, don't get me wrong, it just didn't do a lot for me.

Then, because he had never seen it before, we watched Inkheart. Nothing has really changed in my opinions since the first time I watched it.

Now, for Bad Bloggers:

3 Willows: The Sisterhood Grows by Ann Brashares - I have been planning to read this eventually, but it was Sassymonkey that reminded me to add it to my library holds. The waiting list was rather long, so I am just getting it now.

Clubbing by Andi Watson - Joanne the Book Zombie gets a point for this one.

Boy Meets Boy by David Levithan - Another book added to my wish list because I was browsing Chris' the other night.

How to Talk About Books You Haven't Read by Pierre Bayard - For some reason I didn't think the library had this book, but I looked again thanks to Chris and it was there!

A History of Reading by Alberto Manguel - I have been meaning to read this for a while because I really liked The Library at Night. Blame Chris again...

If You Come Softly by Jacqueline Woodson - Vasilly was talking about this author on the weekend, so I thought I would give her a try.

Olivia Kidney by Ellen Potter - Point for Bookfool, actually.

Jane Austen by Carol Shields - I came to the conclusion the other night that since I have read almost everything by Shields, I should get around to reading the few that I haven't. This is one of them.

Okay, it is now 17 after. That leaves me 43 minutes. I don't think I am going to get everything done!

  1. I liked 3 Willows (I think it falls under the "cute" category) but after just having read the last Pants book they seemed so very young.

  3. Yay! I finally get a point! Okay, now slow down! My head was spinning just reading all that you want to do today. My week's been hectic too. I haven't read half of the books I've been wanting to read. I hope you get everything done.

  4. I'm glad you liked The Library at Night. I hope to read both that one and A History of Reading at some point when my challenge reads let up!

  5. Yes! Australia went on for days! Literally! ;) My hubby and I started out watching it one night as we ate dinner. Long after the food was gone, we decided to pause the movie and finish up the following night. Didn't happen. We watched a big segment, again while eating dinner, and wound up pausing it a second time. Finally finished up on the 3rd night. I'm not sure if I'd say I loved it. I loved Nullah (played by Brandon Walters - great eyes!) and the romance between Kidman and Jackman, but the story was pretty over the top. Melodramatic?

I'm anxious to watch Revolutionary Road. I want to see if I like it better than the book. :)

  6. I haven't yet seen Australia, but I want to just to see what I think. I guess it's good I'll be renting it so I can take naps now and then. :-)

Revolutionary Road is one my husband wants to see but I just haven't been able to get excited about. I'm not sure why.

  10. Squeeee! I got a Bad Blogger point! I'm so happy! :) Olivia Kidney is great.

Yes, Australia could have been stopped at least twice. I loved it, though, and so did my husband. I think we're unusual in that. We just thought it was great fun.

  11. Sassymonkey: It has been a while since I read the Pants books, so I will be interested to see what I think.

Staci: Yes, I did finish this post! lol

Vasilly: Congrats on your point. :)

3M: I am hoping A History of Reading is a good read. It's a bit big, so I really should have started it by now.

Les: It's crazy, huh? I didn't love it, but I did like it.

Literary Feline: My guy did not like Revolutionary Road at all. He called it pretty pointless.

Chris: Yeah. It's not an easy book by her to track down.

Iliana: No, I haven't seen Little Children. I will have to look into that.

Alice: I hope you enjoy Revolutionary Road.

Bookfool: haha, glad you are happy about a bad bloggers point! lol
