So, what did I buy? I bought:
Fables: 1001 Nights Of Snowfall by Bill Willingham, etc.
Fables Vol 10: The Good Prince by Bill Willingham, etc.
Fables Vol. 11: War And Pieces by Bill Willingham, etc.
Carpe Corpus: Morganville Vampire Series by Rachel Caine
The Ghost Brigades by John Scalzi
Then, since I was already being bad... I decided to preorder books...
Hunting Ground by Patricia Briggs
Sea Glass by Maria V. Snyder
Graceling (paperback) by Kristin Cashone
Fables Vol 12: The Dark Ages by Bill Willingham, etc.
Fire by Kristin Cashore
Fables Vol 13: The Great Fables Crossover by Bill Willingham
That should do me until October when I have my birthday.
What about you? Bought any books lately?
Those sound great! I bought loads of books, or rather, loads of books came in the mail last week. I hope to do up the Mailbox Monday post tomorrow. :)
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about Graceling. It's def on my tbr list now. As for buying books...it's the only category of items where I allow myself to splurge if I have to. I've stopped trying to put limits on my book-spendage. It's too cruel!!
ReplyDeleteI have, I have. I bought Murakami's Underground, a true book about the gas attack on Tokyo in 1995. And the one I've been seeing on so many blogs called The Elegance of The Hedgehog. I didn't know Scalzi had a new one (at least to me!) out. I'll have to look into that.
ReplyDeleteOooh, you ordered Fables 13 and 4 already! When will 14 be out? 13 is out in August, right?
ReplyDeleteAlso, you know my answer to that last question :P
A splurge every now and then is a must. :-) Sounds like you've got some great ones there, Kelly! I am not sure I could wait until October before the next splurge. You've got great willpower! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood for you! I always like it when other people buy books :p It makes me feel better about myself, lol. I can't believe you haven't really splurged since Christmas!! And now you're going to wait until October?! You have more patience than me! I really need to finish the Fables series so I can start reading them as they come out!
ReplyDeleteYou have the best stack! I think this might hold you over until October. =) Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteBuying books is never splurging, in my opinion. My theory is that without books to read your brain would turn to mush - so books are as necessary as food!
ReplyDeleteFrack, are Fables 13 and 14 out/coming soon?! I seriously need to get back at that series.
I have heard so much about Graceling. Can't wait to hear your thoughts, too, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteAnd I have Maria Snyder's Poison Study on my shelf but haven't read it. Some day...
In a couple of weeks, though, is a huge library book sale, so I'm sure I'll be bringing it all home then!
I sometimes can't resist either! I just bought a couple yesterday. I don't think I could go all the way until October without a new books. Good luck to you. =)
ReplyDeletewow, what a treat to yourself. I've been haunting the library book sales lately, though there is no scheduled sale for August, so I will have to wait until sept. for more books. However, I did recently order a book with a GC I received.
ReplyDeleteI think you definitely deserved the splurge after not buying any books for a while. I've not read any of these but am definitely interested in some. Enjoy your loot!
ReplyDeleteohhh i think you will like graceling!
