He had such an impact on my teen years that it's hard to believe that he's gone. The 80's will forever be remembered as one long Hughes movie and wonderful soundtrack.
That is sad. He was the god of film when I was a teenager, making movie after movie that kept us going to the theater for multiple viewings. He really knew how to put it all together and make it work.
I was so depressed when I read this. Dating myself, of course, but I grew up on John Hughes movies. The Breakfast Club is one of my very favorites of all time! Just so sad...
This is one of those celebrity deaths that totally caught me off-guard. Never would have guessed how sad it would make me. The Breakfast Club is probably still one of my top three favorite movies...Rich and I still watch it a couple times a year. It's just such a huge part of my long-lost youth.
I was so sad when I heard the news. I grew up on Breakfast Club too....well, didn't grow up, I was already in my 20's, (sshh, I didn't say that!) but I truly enjoyed it all the same. Planes, Trains and automobiles is one of my husband's favourite movies. I love the song "Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds, the theme song to Breakfast Club, that's one of my very favourite songs of all time.
Thanks for posting about him! He deserved a mention, too.
