I guess I should officially sign-up for this challenge! It is just a given that I am going to join in, but this is the first chance I have had to think about things. I find it hard to believe that this is the fifth year for the challenge! I can't believe I have been blogging that long... This year I am doing Peril the First. This means reading four books that fit into any of these categories:
Suspense.
Thriller.
Dark Fantasy.
Gothic.
Horror.
Supernatural.
I tend to read this way at this time of the year regardless of the challenge, so I will likely read more than four.
Books Completed:
1. Frostbitten by Kelley Armstrong
2. Tales of the Otherworld by Kelley Armstrong
3. Skulduggery Pleasant: Dark Days by Derek Landy
4. Room by Emma Donoghue
9. Dracula in Love by Karen Essex
Yeah I'm making mine a 4+ challenge rather than just 4, because I know I'll read more.
ReplyDeleteLOL--Day four of the challenge and you already have three books read! :D
ReplyDelete3 books read already?! I love this challenge. Unfortunately it's too sunny for me to think about scary stories though I did check out a few books for this challenge. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for you on the list, hoping that you were going to join in again this year. It really is hard to believe that it has been 5 years, isn't it? I started blogging in January of '05. Doesn't seem possible that so much time has passed by so very quickly. Love that you are a part of this again, it makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteYou're doing well already. I need to get back to Kelley Armstrong. Look forward to seeing what else you read.
ReplyDeleteWonderful choices. I too have finished two books and look forward to read lot more!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Do check out the books I already read for RIP V. Also you will find my tentative read list.
Wow, you're doing great! I haven't even formally joined the challenge, let alone started, and you're already 3/4 of the way done!
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the challenge! I'm participating too. Can't resist it. LOL
ReplyDeletesometimes I forget that you read so much so fast! you are right in that the Skulduggery series is enjoyable. I only read the first one so far but did enjoy it! Glad you made it official to join, I couldn't imagine this without you!
ReplyDeleteAmanda: But at least if I only read 4 I will still have accomplished something. :)
ReplyDeleteDebi: It is that time of the year for me... The leaves start changing and I start digging around for some atmospheric reads.
Vasilly: I am reading my own books at the moment, but might do a bit of library browsing for a bit more...
Carl: I know, I was slow! Normally I am one of the first people to sign-up. Then, I forgot that I hadn't until I posted a review. :)
Cath: I love Kelley Armstrong. There is only one book in the whole series I didn't like and that was just because I didn't like the main character...
gautami: Happy reading!
Memory: I anticipate this time of the year all year. :)
Alice: It should be fun!
Pat: I haven't been reading so fast this year, but if I put my mind to I can! I couldn't imagine this without you, either!
Yay glad you are signing up for this too. You haveade a great start already! Must catch up on Kelley Armstrong.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me Kelly?? You read three books already :O I shouldn't be surprised really :p
ReplyDeleteAs above so below...I second the above comment....Goodness three already...:)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your other reviews. At this rate you should have 20 plus books reviewed for this challenge. Amazing!
I haven't tried skulduggery yet - but I do have it on my wish list - so that is a step in the right direction :)
ReplyDeleteRhinoa: Yes, you MUST catch up on Armstrong. Such a great series!
ReplyDeleteChris: lol I like this time of the year, so reading books that fit is a given!
Shellie: Thanks! One year I did read about 20 books, I think, but hard to say what will happen this year. It depends on my mood. :)
Sally: Skulduggery is a fun series, so I hope you enjoy it!
Three books already, LOL. Some of us have only just started! I've only read Skulduggery Pleasant, I hadn't realised there were so many more now - that's great! Happy reading for the rest of the challenge.
ReplyDeleteThe word verification today is "ratinit" - seems very appropriate!
Geranium Cat: I may be wrong, but I think there are going to be 10 or 11 Skulduggery books. Someone told me at some point but I can't remember!
ReplyDeleteHaha you've already read three, I'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteAh...a veteran of the RIP Challenge!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to be a part of it this year. I'm impressed that you've already finished three books!
Thanks for visiting me at my blog!
thebookwormchronicles: haha, thanks!
ReplyDeleteKelly: I hope you enjoy! Thanks for visiting my blog, too. :)
Jeez ... wow. You are almost done already. I better get cracking!
ReplyDeleteJenners: No rush. You have two months. :)
ReplyDeleteI made a list, but I'm already straying from it. LOL Good luck with the challenge, Kelly!
ReplyDeleteLiterary Feline: I ALWAYS stray, so there is no point in making a list... lol
ReplyDeleteFun list, good luck!
ReplyDeleteKim: Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAlready so much read! I do love this challenge, and you always have good suggestions to inspire a list!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've almost completed this challenge already! I haven't read any of the books on your list but I have read Bitten and Stolen by Kelley Armstrong. For some reason, I had trouble with Dime Store Magic. It seemed too predictable and a little irritating. Did you read it?
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the challenge!
