August in Review

What I Learned

That reading a bunch of books at one time is actually a good thing. I don't get bored, so I keep reading... Near the end of the year I tend to get burned out by reading because I tend to read a lot during the start, so if I just keep this up I should be able to keep my numbers up. When I get tired of a book, I just put it down and pick up another one for the moment.

On a totally unrelated topic, I get to see my friend today who is going to be a new mother later on in the month. I haven't seen her in a few months, so I am looking forward to a chance to hang out before her life gets crazy.

Thoughts for September

I am going to have fun with the R.I.P. Challenge. I am going to blog as long as I am in the mood to blog. And, I am going to read whatever strikes my fancy and have fun with it.

What are your plans for September?

  1. I think you're seriously out of control!!! LOL....you read a lot this month. Have fun visiting with your friend!!

  2. I LOVE your "Thoughts for September"! Sounds like the perfect attitude! I believe I shall adopt it as my plan, too. :D

  3. I read Ellen Feldman's novel Lucy, about FDR and his mistress, and I liked it to much I'm very interested in picking up her latest Next to Love. You have an amazing stack of books here, friend, both of what you've read and those who are new to you! I'd like to read Fragile Things, too, hoping that I can get to it before Halloween if not in time to follow along with those of you who are reading it.

  4. **Staci: Reading is a good constant even when the rest of the world can be crazy... I had lots of fun visiting her. :)

**Debi: It is a good plan for you, too!

**Bellezza: I have started Fragile Things and it is pretty good so far. It is the only collection of his I haven't read before, so I am looking forward to it.

  5. gads, the only person who can keep up with your reading is Becky! lol.. you two are amazing!

I am reading Home for Peculiar Children right now.. what a great book it is (so far lol) :o)

  6. Some interesting reading, Kelly! And lots of it!

I think I'll do another year of Carl's RIP since I haven't missed a year yet. That is my September plan.

  7. **Pat: haha! Thanks, Pat! My favourite part of Home for Peculiar was the pictures. I still haven't reviewed that book...

**JenClair: Glad to hear you are going to do R.I.P.! I wouldn't miss it!

  8. You're clearly back in the swing of things with your reading. I must read The Help at some stage, I think I'm the last person in the world not to have read it.

I'm doing the same for Sept. Reading when I can for RIP and having fun.

  9. Your plans for September sound absolutely perfect! I'm so excited for the R.I.P. Challenge as well and can't wait to see what everyone reads for it. Sounds like you had an awesome month of reading in August!

  10. **Cath: I am trying, anyway... There is so much that I want to read! I enjoyed The Help, though.

**samantha: I am really excited for the R.I.P. challenge!
