Tuning in on Thursday - Week 8

New Fall Shows

I haven't really watched any of them but I had to do a bit of a happy dance about Once Upon a Time returning this weekend! I am really excited because I have seen tid-bits here and there about what to expect in the coming episodes.

Older Shows

Bones - I started season 4. I love this show. It is really nerdy goodness. I wanted to watch more but we had a bit of technological problems and it sort of killed most of our watching recently. I am hoping to get back to it this week, though.

Big Bang Theory - I watched a bit of the 4th season of this show, too. It really is the funniest show on television, but I am a bit unreliable about actually watching it. It was also on as a marathon around Christmas so we saw lots of the older episodes. I love Sheldon I must admit. But really, the whole cast works really well together.

Movies

I call them movies, but really they are concerts. In the last little bit we have watched an Alice Cooper concert, a John Lennon tribute concert, and a Rush concert. We always get a few for Christmas. They were all really good. The John Lennon concert annoyed me because apparently John only had one child. It is really unfortunate that everything is centred around his one wife and nothing else seems to matter. Apparently he also didn't belong to this very famous band because the pictures skipped from before to happy days with his wife. That time in-between just didn't happen. Otherwise it was enjoyable! The Alice Cooper is entertaining just because it is Alice Cooper... And the Rush was my favourite, but it is sad that Geddy Lee can't sing the same way any more.

Star Wars Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back: I educated the guy on these movies, but we never finished. I can't believe he had never seen them before! We only made it through part of this movie before, so we finally watched the rest so we can move on to my favourite...

  1. Hmm, I agree. Bones and The Big Bang Theory are awesome shows - yeah, in all their nerdy goodness. :)

And Alice Cooper ... isn't he that guy that bit of a chicken's head on one of his concerts? XD

    1. ah, yes, lots of nerdy goodness. :)

haha, I don't think that really happened, but it makes for a good story!

  2. I wish I had time to catch up with Big Bang Theory. So much funny, so little time.

@sarcofagus. From what I've heard in interviews, that never happened. Someone threw a live chicken onto the stage, and Alice Cooper threw it back into the crowd, who promplty tore it to pieces. Gotta love those dedicated shock-rock fans!

  4. Oh good! Once Upon A Time is back this weekend. Looking forward to it :)

I really like Bones too, but don't always get around to watching it. Need to watch some back episodes via Netflix.

  6. I'm deplorable when it comes to watching television! I never know what shows are good, as the only ones I watch are Masterpiece Theater (Downton Abbey to be specific, now that it's being released in its second season starting Sunday) and Mad Men. My husband watches tv, I read. Boring over here at Chez Bellezza. ;)

    1. Well, I am just as happy to just read than watch TV, but it is a good way for the guy and I to do something together... Reading is a more singular activity. And really, TV and movies are, too, but at least we can talk about them afterwards and such.

    1. Yes, at the time we watched the first couple seasons all at one time. We just haven't had time to watch all of the 4th yet.

  8. I think there must be something wrong with me because I disagree about Big Bang Theory. :( I really wanted to love it but I just don't. I've given it a fair shot (Brian loves it so I've seen most of the episodes) but it just doesn't do it for me. Funnily enough I can't stand Sheldon! People really either love him or hate him, it's weird. My vote for funniest show on TV is How I Met Your Mother or Community.

    1. You know, I can't handle large quantities of Big Bang Theory to be honest. Lorrie and Tynan watch the reruns ALL the time and I just can't take them over and over again... I do really like Community, but still haven't watched the second season, and I haven't got around to How I Met Your Mother. I can't watch anything that I need my computer for at the moment with the stereo broken because you just cannot hear out of these little tiny computer speakers unless you sit at the computer.
