Saturday Snapshot
This is a meme hosted by Alyce at At Home with Books.
This is what it looks like when you actually read your own books!
(Missing Fables: Volume 16, Foundation (because it is a 3-in-1 book), Shakespeare (because it is his collected works), and the Unwritten graphic novels.

More questions! This time from Chris at Stuff As Dreams Are Made On:
1. What's the best book you've read so far in 2012?
Either Ready Player One by Ernest Cline or A Fault in Our Stars by John Green.
2. What's your most anticipated book of 2012 so far?
hm... That's a hard question! I am looking forward to River Marked by Patricia Briggs and 13 by Kelley Armstrong (even though it is the end and that makes me sad...)
3. What's your favorite song or album of 2012 so song (doesn't have to be from this year)?
Well, the last day or so I have been listening to needtobreathe. They are a pretty good band.
4. What's the best thing to happen to you so far this year?
Casey is all that comes to mind.
5. What's the worst thing to happen to you so far this year?
My cell phone broke again.
6. What's the best piece of news you've heard not concerning you so far this year? This could be a political event, a news item that made you smile, something that happened to a friend, etc.
Oh, I heard something last night, but I am not sure if it is common knowledge yet. Let's just say it is good for the local economy...
7. What's the best thing you've cooked/eaten/best recipe you've saved so far this year?
um, well, cooked is anything that actually tasted fine. Eaten was probably a pasta dish at a restaurant. And, saved, I am really bad for acquiring recipes and not actually trying them myself.
8. What's your biggest goal for this year and how's it working for you so far?
I have been trying to branch out more. I have read poetry, more essays, drama, listened to new music, and watched some of the popular stuff that I have heard lots about and never watched before. So, it is good well, but obviously it is hopefully going to include more things as the year goes.
9. Have you discovered any new to you blogs yet this year that you're loving?
Don't think I have started following any new blogs yet this year.
10. What's your favorite thing you've seen on the screen so far this year? This could be a tv show/music video/movie/documentary, etc.
I finally watched the BBC Sherlock Holmes. That was really good.
11. Do you plan on doing any gardening in 2012?
I hope so. We have been discussing the options.

Popular question. Ready Player One and A Fault in Our Stars.
2. Name a memorable event that made you gasp or which was so shocking that you remember exactly where you were and what you were doing.
Lots. The first thing that popped into my mind was 9/11.
3. Who is your favorite poet?
Emily Dickinson
4. Have you read anything by Simon Van Booy? What did you think?
Yes. I did enjoy the book I read by him, but reading it on my e-reader was a bad idea.
5. If someone offered you the money to go somewhere, but it had to be either Ireland, Italy or Australia, which would you choose?
Oh, evil question. I have always wanted to go Ireland, but Marg lives in Australia and I really want to visit her. So, Australia.

11. What is the most interesting object in this photograph?
The 'old phone'. I love old phones!
My favorite was the old phone too!! I just answered on Nancy's blog, though. And I love that picture of Casey.
ReplyDeleteI should go read the comments on Nancy's blog. I haven't done that yet.
DeleteAnd, yes, she got her head stuck in the handles, so I actually cut them just in case. Now she has them torn right off anyway. :)
What a wonderful stack of books!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good bunch of reading. :)
Deletelove your stack of books! I'm trying to read more of of my own books this year too--aiming for at least 100 (that would be quite a stack!).
ReplyDeleteHere's my snapshot: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2012/02/saturday-snapshot-valentine-flowers.html
I would be happy with about 100, too. I am going to take a picture of whatever I end up with. :)
DeleteWhat a great pile of books! I see you have "Naked" by David Sedaris in there - I love that one.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Naked, too. I look forward to more from Sedaris.
DeleteI see several books there that I loved (Wonderstruck, Ready Player One, Cinder & MWF Seeking BFF).
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed those books, too!
DeleteLooks like some titles I could sink my teeth into.

Hope you find something to enjoy!
DeleteI admire you for branching out!
ReplyDeleteShelleyrae @ Book'd out
Have you read all those books this year? Wow! You're having a good year if the worst thing that's happened to you is your phone broke again.
ReplyDeleteYep. They are the ones I own. I also read a few library books.
DeleteAw, Casey looks adorable in that picture :) And I love your branching out goal for the year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute picture of Casey!! Thanks for playing along. Yes, that question about favorite books is a popular one, but it's certainly fun reading the answer. The phone is so cool. I wondered if everyone would zone in on it. "Everyone," though, is not many people. Thanks for answering my questions! Australia sounds great to me for the same reason. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I really enjoy older phones. I look forward to one day visiting Australia!
DeleteHah! I'm laughing at the lightbulb question because it reminded me that the light in my closet is burnt out and I still haven't changed it. I need to go buy lightbulbs first! So in my house, the answer most definitely isn't 1!
ReplyDeletehaha. I always change the bulbs when they are out unless I can't reach... Then the guy can worry about it.
DeleteCasey is adorable! Cute picture.
ReplyDeleteYou've done a great job reading from your stacks. I really need to get a copy of Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. I love Kingsolver's books.
And thanks for removing the word verification. I think a lot of us had done the same. Hope Blogger gets the hint!
Thanks!
DeleteAnimal, Vegetable, Miracle was really interesting.
Even though they have changed the word verification yet again I still find it annoying!
I love that you did so many of these as it's so fun to read the answers! Your kitty is just too cute!
ReplyDeleteI am also such a fangirl of the BBC Sherlock Holmes! My daughter found the second season online and we got to watch them just hours after they premiered in the UK. We will, of course, buy the DVD when it's available! She's actually struck up some friendships at her college by putting up Richard Brooks posters to oppose the "I believe in Sherlock" party putting up their posters.
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the second season at some point. In the meantime I might rewatch the first season!
DeleteReady Player One rocked!
ReplyDeleteYes, it did!
DeleteI enjoyed learning more about you! Emily Dickinson is my favorite poet, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I really need to read more from Dickinson.
