February Roundup - Read More/Blog More Poetry Event

Thanks to everyone that joined in for the second month of Poetry: Read More/Blog More. We had a decent turnout despite Lu and I sort of leaving everything to the last minute this month. I look forward to seeing what everyone posts about for March, but in the meantime here is a run-down of the posts for February in case you missed visiting.

Hosts:

Lu talked about the poetry collection Native Guard by Natasha Trethewey and shared the poem 'My Mother Dreams Another Country'.

I answered Lu's prompts from January. My favorite poem is "Goblin Market" by Christina Rossetti.

Unfinished Person wrote a post answering Lu's prompts from January. She listed her favorite poem as "Skunk Island" by Robert Lowell.

Lizzy at Lizzy's Literary Life shared the poem "For a Venetian Pastoral, by Giorgione" by Dante Gabriel Rosetti.

Jeanne at Necromancy Never Pays shared the delightful poem "After the Movie" by Marie Howe and related it to her own life.

Debbie at Exurbanis wrote a post about poetry for children and shared a portion of the book There Were Monkeys In My Kitchen by Sherrie Fitch.

Phaedosia at Book Hearth wrote about Mary Oliver and two of her poems.

Serena at Savvy Verse and Wit wrote about LGBT poets and whether or not the sexual orientation of a poet influences their work and helps us understand it.

Care from Care's Online Book Club wrote another delightful poem to share with everyone.

Kaye from the road goes ever ever on shared a post called Quotography which means she shared lovely photos and some wonderful poetry together in one post.

Snowball from Come, Sit by the Hearth shares a poem by Edna St. Vincent Millay.

Ana at things mean a lot discussed the novel in verse The Firefly Letters by Margarita Engle.

Grace from Books Without Any Pictures is doing her own poetry exploration and shared her post on Natural Selections by Joseph Campana with us. This includes a glimpse at one of his poems, 'Jay'.

Then, L from omphaloskepsis answered Lu's questions as well. Her favourite poems are 'Much Madness is Divinest Sense' by Emily Dickinson, 'The Lovesong' by J. Alfred Prufrock, and 'i like my body when it with your' by e.e. cummings.
