Christmas Gift Cards - My Annual Christmas Present

Here is what I am thinking of getting this year with my gift cards:
I am getting this camera for Christmas, so I thought I should know how to use this camera and all the settings...
Been a while since I read anything by Valente. I have been curious about this book for a while and seemed like a good place to go next.
New Fables!! Yay!!
I have heard good things about this book and it sounds like something I would like.
New Mercy Thompson book!!!!
I am still very sad that Diana Wynne Jones isn't still around. I knew I had to check this book out, though. She was a fantastic author and I look forward to her insights.
I don't need this because I have the two separate books, but I still added it to the list just in case.
I really enjoyed Melanie Benjamin's previous two works, so I knew I was going to have to check out her third novel.
I have been in a fairy tale sort of mood lately and I haven't read Jack Zipes in forever... Thought it would be good to check him out again.
A Madeline L'Engle book that I don't own! Had to remedy that....
And because I have been a bit obsessed with postcards this year I thought I would get these Beatrix Potter ones. I love Beatrix Potter and have a collection of figurines and such.

The sad thing is that there are many many other things that I want. The new Susan Carroll, for example. Or the Susanna Kearsley book that will be released next year. I am curious about Was by Geoff Ryman. Spitfire Girls by Carol Gould sounds like something I would like. I would like to get The Sword-Edged Blonde by Alex Bledsoe because I own all the books by this one and it is the first one, of course. I want to add to my Diana Wynne Jones collection and buy A Tale of Time City. I decided to just get one book by her for the moment. I really like the sound of Virginia Nicholson's books, like Millions Like Us, but never seem to read them. So, I just keep buying her. More Baths Less Talking by Nick Hornby is out. I only didn't get this one because I read the rest from the library... So, can't make up my mind. Lastly I have my eyes on Redshirts by John Scalzi. And, that is just novels. I have some graphic novels in mind, too.

  1. yay, I'm excited that you're reading Reflections. It's been some years since I read that Jack Zipes book, but I remember it being good. I hope you enjoy all your picks!
