The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 6th and runs through Sunday, January 12th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 9.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team
Okay... I am finally doing this. I see it around, but this is the first time I am signing up. I am hoping 2014 will be a good reading year and will do whatever is necessary to get back into the groove following a slow 2013 reading year. At least I haven't been going to the library and have been reading my own books. That's a start!
I am going to link it up with this:
And this:
I've heard of the read-a-thon and it sounds fun but I wish it was going on this week instead. I have this week off from work and next is probably going to be crazy after the holiday break. Ah well, next time. Anyway have fun with all the challenges and read-a-thons! I'm excited about next year too!
ReplyDeleteYay! Glad you're joining in. I need to work on my goal post for later this week. Last time I went with a daily "time spent reading" goal and that worked well for me.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like fun. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck and have fun! I did a Bout of Books in the fall, I think, and thought it was a fun challenge. I definitely ready more than normal.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna try the readathon, but I don't know how much I'll realistically get read, as I'm starting a new job that week. I'm thinking I might focus on novellas instead of full-length books, that way I won't be tempted to stay up too late. :P
ReplyDeleteI will be joining in Bout of Books again (for the second time), but my first half of the week will probably be more successful than the last. I have some busy days the latter half of that week. :(
