Is this thing on? Is there even anyone out there? I have apparently forgotten how to blog. I want to come back, but then never do... And here is is Fall, my favourite season of the year, and the R.I.P Challenge is running and I haven't even signed up! So, I am dusting off the dust and cobwebs to make an attempt to get back in the swing of things... Wish me luck!
I don't even know what I want to read. This is what happens when you are living under a rock... Normally I am more social and have read more, so I know what is happening in the world. We will just have to see how things go.
Any recommendations?
Hello, how lovely to see you here! (Not that I don't see you practically every day on FB. lol) How about some Patricia Briggs, if you haven't already read them all... I just read Silver Borne and loved it. Have fun, hope you read some good books.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I liked The Wolf in Winter by John Connolly-it was a good choice for RIP, and I just finished The Pierced Heart by Lynn Shepherd, another very eery take on the Dracula theme. Know you've been busy, but glad to see you back!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see you back, Kelly! Even I joined the challenge this year, which I haven't done in years. :-) You've probably read everything I will be reading for the challenge. I just finished Malinda Lo's Ash and really enjoyed it. Now I'm reading a Japanese mystery thriller which has gotten off to a good start.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you!! Another blogger recommended Horrorstor to me as a possible RIP read, so I'm kind of excited about that one. And I have A Mind of Winter checked out from the library, by Laura Kasichke, which looks well creepy. Perfect autumn read. (If I could just have the autumn weather to match it!)
ReplyDeleteHow about a readalong of Drood??? ;)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I'm terrible at challenges, so I'm skipping this, but Trish's rec sounds good!
ReplyDeleteThere you are! How about The Birds by Daphne du Maurier? It looks like you've got some fantastic other choices as well. Glad to see you!
ReplyDeleteI'm going with the flow and just picking things at random from my TBR that seem like they fit closely enough with the theme. I did just finish reading The Haunting of Hill House, which was very different than what I normally read.
ReplyDeleteI just posted about 5 books I've read so far for the challenge. Maybe one of them will give you a spark? Shirley Jackson? I like CAth's suggestion of Patricia Briggs, too :-) How about a Stephen King novel? I feel like reading It again soon. Such a scary novel in places! Good luck, and I hope you find some good things to read for this challenge, even if you can't post about them much. I know the feeling, this year.....
