Things I Have Learned Since... I Started Bullet Journalling

1. | I like crossing things off... It makes me feel accomplished...

2. | I can find extra hours for things in the hopes that it will mean something is crossed off!

3. | It has helped me get back to things I was neglecI ting...

4. | Mine is not as pretty as other's I have seen. It is basically lists. People keep asking for pictures. It's boring! No one wants to see my to do lists and reminders.

5. | I still have too many things that I want to do each day. I have always loved projects and I continue to find new ones...

6. | The sense of accomplishment I feel each day is making me feel more relaxed... Sometimes I have to move things to the next day, but I mostly accomplish everything on my list!

7. | I enjoy keeping track of my reading in yet another way... Maybe I will actually keep track when I start books instead of when I finish them?

8. | As part of my bullet journalling, I have been following a cleaning schedule. Best. Idea. Ever. I don't follow it exactly, but I like the framework!

9. | I still wish I had more time in a day... Like blogging? Still haven't quite got back to that with more than a one time schedule most weeks, but I did this post! And I have a couple other ideas with this theme!

10. | I think my favourite part of Bullet Journalling is that I am getting back into taking pictures!

  2. Great idea about using bullets! I think it would in fact give me a better sense of accomplishment to use them.

  3. I never thought of doing it but it sounds like it's worth a try.

  4. I love crossing stuff off! It's the best! I'm a total to do list junkie and I definitely agree that a cleaning schedule makes life way easier. I've also found that if I clean regularly for a few weeks a busy week where I'm not able to at all isn't as big of a deal.

  5. Yes for anything that gets you to take more pictures! Cleaning schedule, which we started last year: YES, the only way we get anything done.

  6. I keep thinking I'd like to try Bullet Journaling. Some of them are real works of art, aren't they? But I already have a system that works for me and I'm trying to resist the urge to tinker with it. And I have to keep reminding myself that no matter how organised I am, there are only so many hours in the day.

A cleaning schedule could be useful, though. Do you have one you'd recommend? Or did you create your own?

  7. I still do not totally get bullet journaling! One of these days I'm going to make time to look into it and see what it's all about. Because if there is one thing I agree with on this list, it's that crossing things off lists is the most satisfying thing in this life. :p

  8. I've been giving the idea a lot of thought lately--mainly because of the indexing. I'm another one who likes to cross things off a list and will do the chores just so I can mark them off!

  9. I've started following a cleaning schedule (of my own making), too. I used to do all my cleaning and laundry on the weekend, telling myself I was too tired at the end of a work day to be productive. Ha! Now I do laundry, vacuum, pay bills, ironing, grocery shopping, etc. during the week which obviously frees up my weekends for more relaxing and fun activities. Of course, I still avoid dusting...

  10. I love crossing things off too. I started a bullet journal at the beginning of the year and I agree, it's been helping me feel like I am getting things done. I still use a digital task manager/calendar to remind me about repeating tasks, future tasks and appointments (I haven't found a good analog system for that), but daily tasks lists in a notebook is satisfying. My bullet journal is super plain too -- I'm not artsy enough for all that stuff :)

  11. I started doing that cleaning schedule too. I think I am in LOVE! My house is cleaner than it has been in ages, and I like getting it done in small doses.

  12. I meant to swing by sooner when I saw your post but life happened and I couldn't. Thanks for sharing about your BuJo system! Mine is pretty plain as well though I do love looking at the fancy stuff many have been doing on their journals. I don't think I will ever do that though because I don't normally do that even. Still, love to look at it. BuJo has been working very well for me because I love crossing stuff off too AND seeing all those crossed out items!
