Week in Review (1)

Life

This picture is actually from 2017. But, it is snowing here today, so I decided to just use it again. I am also comparing my backyard back then to now. The sky is not blue, but all the same places are white at the moment. It is supposed to snow all day. I think the only one excited is the dog, who went in and out 15 times this morning to roll around in it. He is taking a nap now.

I took down the last of the Christmas stuff today. It's hard to believe it has come and gone! I also did some cleaning. Always exciting. But, I listened to Cilka's Journey by Heather Morris while doing so. I just finished Tattooist of Auschwitz, and then noticed there was a sequel. I had planned to start something else, but decided to keep the momentum going. I listen to an audio in my car for my commute and a book on Scribd most of the time. It means that I listened to way more audios in 2019 than I ever had before. We will see what 2020 brings.

I am doing this fun game for my reading this year. I made a Monopoly board, only the spots are all book related. When I land on a square, I have to read a book that meets that criteria. It won't be all my reading this year, but it will be my main method. It  is already getting me to read neglected books on my TBR!

Bookopoly

Giant Days Volumes 7, 8, 9, & 10

One of my goals for 2020 was to catch up on some of my graphic series. This week it was Giant Days. I am missing 3 of the books, but since I am caught up, I gave myself permission to order them. So, they will be read in the next week or so. This series is a lot of fun. I actually read volume 1 to 6 in 2019. They were all rereads. These 4, it was the first time I had read them. It basically follows 3 women and their college adventures. It is contemporary for the most part, but there are some magical aspects to make things interesting. They are just starting their 3rd year when I finished up. I am looking forward to Volume 11! Recommended!

The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris

I read this book because I rolled Historical Fiction in Bookopoly. I have really neglected historical fiction over the years, so I was excited to get to this book. I had heard lots of good things about it. I did the audio through Scribd and the narration was very well done. The story was compelling, too. It is always been an aspect of history that has caught my interest because a lot of people think it is made up and other's seem to want to repeat it. It is a reminder of what people are capable of doing to other people. I am glad that I read it and I am glad that it got me back into historical fiction. There are a lot of unread ones on my shelves that I have been meaning to get to for ages! Recommended!

I'm jealous you've read so much already! I have not yet finished one. I hope you have a great reading and blogging year!
