Reason for Reading: Finish off the trilogy. The Series Challenge Season 3.
For the past six years, Matty has lived in Village and flourished under the guidance of Seer, a blind man, known for his special sight. Village was a place that welcomed newcomers, but something sinister has seeped into Village and the people have voted to close it to outsiders. Matty has been invaluable as a messenger. Now he must make one last journey through the treacherous forest with his only weapon, a power he unexpectedly discovers within himself.I have decided that in the interest of catching up on the pending reviews that are piling up, I am going to borrow Dewey's review format. I tend to ramble in my own, and that is not conductive to my catch-up plan! The fact that I am having a really hard time reading the last few days is good in the sense that I am not behind even further!

What led you to pick up this book? I had read the first two and I was determined that I would finish some trilogies/series this year, so this was my first one!
Summarize the plot, but don’t give away the ending! See above...
What did you like most about the book? The characters. Lowry is very good at writing characters that you can connect with and get to know during the course of the novel. You start to feel for them and appreciate what they are going through.
What did you like least? The ending. Well, the whole book. I couldn't really seem to get into it. I am starting to think that novels of this sort are not really my thing...
Have you read any other books by this author? What did you think of those books? I have read The Giver, Gathering Blue, and most recently, Gossamer by her. I loved Gossamer. I thought it was a great little book! The Giver was good, too, but I was just not a big fan of the other two books in the trilogy!
What did you think of the main character? I did really like the main character. Like I said above, Lowry writes good characters. He was introduced in the previous book, so it was nice to see further development. Plus, characters from the other two books make appearances which was nice.
What about the ending? I thought it was too abrupt. I'll leave it at that.
