Once Upon a Time Reading Challenge Update and Something Else
I just wanted to announce that I offically have read five books for the Once Upon a Time Challenge. I likely will read more off the list in the coming months, but I am done my challenge of reading 5 books off my list. I am a bit behind in my reviews. I have been taking time to read, but I have not had a lot of time to review. Anyways, the five books are:
1. Dragons of the Autumn Twilight by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman
2. Storm Front by Jim Butcher
3. Coraline by Neil Gaiman
4. The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale
5. Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
I loved all five of these books, so I recommend them all. Reviews will be forth-coming.
And, I am excited to say that I won another book for the BAFAB thing. This one from The Indextrious Reader!!!! I am excited to get all these books in the mail. This time, I am getting "Lucky Girls" by Nell Freudenberger. Lots of good reading to look forward to, get ready for the reviews!
My mother thinks I should go buy a lottery ticket. I don't think I am going to press my luck... I am just going to watch my mailbox.

I'm glad you enjoyed The Goose Girl because I was thinking of reading that one next. After finishing Ella Enchanted, I thought another fairy tale story might be nice. (Though really I should be reading my book for class! You're so lucky to be done!)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning another book! I'm with Mom, you should go buy a lottery ticket. I've been saying I'm going to do that one of these days...:-P
Ah, there's the overachiever! (I'm just jealous.)
ReplyDeleteNice list of books you read for the challenge! I'm finishing up the Dresden books right now.
Inkheart! My niece loves that book. It's in my stack now.
DC: I really liked The Goose Girl, you should read it.
ReplyDeleteCarrie K: Inkheart was a book about books, who could ask for a better read? Have you read all the Dresdan Files? I want to, but I have to order them all online. My bookstores around here suck. And I read mostly fantasy anyways, so it was not like it was hard :P
Congrats on so many things to you!! Free books, finishing a challenge and best of all, graduating soon! I'm with your mom, you need to go buy a lottery ticket :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the book reivews.
Congrats on being the first to finish the challenge. I'm proud of you...and you suck. ;) Just kidding, of course. You rock! Nicely done. I look forward to reading all of your reviews.
ReplyDeleteiliana: Today was a good day. I hope it lasts! I must get cracking on reviews. I read quite a few books that I have not reviewed yet. The good and bad side of reading a lot.
ReplyDeleteCarl V: I can feel the love. lol That's cool that I am the first one done, now to write some reviews... And I am sure I will read other fantasy books that I can share on the Once Upon a Time page until the challenge is over with. :)
Holy Smokes, Kailana, you are a fast reader! My son loves the Dragons of Autum Twilight book/series, but I haven't read them myself. I did read Inkheart, which my nieces in law said were their all time favorite read aloud from their teacher. I'm looking forward to reading what you thought. Congratulations on your completion; I'm still deciding on my choices!
ReplyDeleteBellezza: You really should read Weis/Hickman. It was a great read, and I cannot wait to read the next book! There is a new series out that is the same authors returning to the characters in those books. The first one is out in hardcover right now. I look forward to reading it! Inkheart was good too, I just finished it this morning. I have the next one, but I am not in a big hurry because there is no known release date for book 3, just a title, which I have forgotten.
ReplyDeleteGoodness, you're a fast reader! Congrats on finishing the challenge. I hope to read Goose Girl, soon. I love what Carl said (for the laugh, not for picking on you). :)
ReplyDeleteOoh, lucky you! Haha! yeah, maybe you could win in the lottery, you never know.
