Announcement Number One: My great grandmother turned 100 today! I was going to post pictures but I came home to no power, so that is forth-coming.
Announcement Number Two: Look at the cool picture Tom drew:
Announcement Number Three: I reviewed Vivaldi's Virgins by Barbara Quick on Historical Tapestry. You can read it here. (You have to scroll down a bit, Stephanie reviewed it and then I added on underneath her post.)
Announcement Number Four: I asked for recommendations on Twisted Kingdom, so if you would be so kind, head over there and offer some suggestions. Click here.
Announcement Number Five: I started Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer's today. Bella should die. We will see if I manage to finish it...
Announcement Number Six: I much rather would recommend Spirits in the Wires by Charles de Lint. I am reading it right now, and it is really good so far! I will post a review on Twisted Kingdom when I am done.
Announcement Number Seven: I should have good book posts to share in the next couple weeks as my packages arrive. So, expect book posts, and me being unlazy and taking pictures of my books...
Announcement Number Eight: I am organizing my bookshelves. It is taking way longer than I planned. I might post pictures of the completed project when I am done.
Announcement Number Nine: I, as usual, do not have enough bookshelves but have no room for another one.
Announcement Number Ten: How do people do so many challenges? I read blogs and it is all challenge sign ups, people have 5 or 6 on the go at one time, sometimes even more! I am just amazed. I am just looking forward to the R.I.P. Challenge which starts up soon.
That's all my announcements for the day. Have a good night!
Wow!!! 100!!! That's awesome!!! Happy Birthday!!!! ^__^
ReplyDeleteI want ti kill Bella. Horribly. If it wasn't for my curious nature I'd ditch this series completely but I just HAVE to know how their story ends in the next book. Ugh.
I don't know how people maintain so many challenges either! I have enough trouble maintaining my library list!
ReplyDeleteMany congratulations on all the wonderful news, and in particular, happy birthday to your great-grandmother!
ReplyDeleteI suspect most people keep up with challenges by finding ways to make each book apply to more than one challenge. ;)I plan to ease into the things myself.
Happy Birthday to your great-grandmother! How wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI started Eclipse yesterday!
Happy Birthday to Granny!!
ReplyDeleteI had to stop signing up for challenges. I feel guilty if I fall behind. Silly, I know.
Happy birthday to your great-grandmother! 100 is impressive!
ReplyDeleteHeather is right - book overlapping makes coping with many challenges possible. I have two going on right now, and I'll be joining 3 more this Fall, but some books apply to more than one. Also, some of these are "small" challenges, with only 3 books each.
I look forward to the book pictures!
Mailyn: Bella is driving me crazy and I am only 100 pages into the book. I couldn't even pick it up today. And Jacob, so far the only person not annoying me is Edward. So, I don't know what I am going to do. I'll probably finish it and read the next book, but I am sad the series has gone downhill for me.
ReplyDeleteMarg: I couldn't maintain a library list like you do!
Heather: I know. It's still crazy to see the lists people have, though.
iliana: I started Eclipse yesterday too, hence why I think Bella should die. lol
Chris: I just can't follow lists, I read by moods.
Nymeth: The R.I.P. Challenge and what else?
Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes! My great grandmothers mother lived to be just short of 101, so we will have to see what happens! She can't see anymore, and I think all the people were confusing here, but she ate a lot and seemed to enjoy herself. She has no idea who I am anymore, so I just watched and took pictures.
Agree completely. Yes,the series HAS gone downhill and, unless she picks it up with the next book, I don't think I'm ever re-reading even Twilight.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. It had so much potential to be a great series, it is sad that it didn't last.
ReplyDeleteWow that's a lot of announcements! Yay for being 100! In the UK you get a letter from the Queen apparently. I really like the one Charles de Lint book I have read so far and am looking forward to reading some more later in the year. Have fun sorting out your books :)
ReplyDeleteIf you are out of room for bookcases, you can always add shelves to the walls.
ReplyDeleteWow! Happy Birthday to your Grandamama!
ReplyDeleteYes, that is a cool picture that he drew!
Haven't heard of that De Lint book, but after reading my first of his I am sold that he is an amazing author so I will check this one out.
Look forward to your other book reviews, etc.
Enjoy your weekend.
Rhinoa: It's too bad that our close ties to the UK don't mean we get a letter from the queen, I think we just get one from Stephen Harper! My grandmother didn't find out, though, so one of her cousins is looking into it for my great grandmother to have a letter from the PM.
ReplyDeleteDaphne: Yeah, I have shelves on the wall too. I can't get anymore bookshelves because I ran out of wall space anyways.
carl v.: It's a good book. I will hopefully review it later this week.
The other two are the Seconds Challenge and the Books to Movies challenge. I've already officially joined, but they only start in September/October.
ReplyDeleteNymeth: Ah, yes, I have seen those challenges circulating around.
ReplyDeleteWow have you read a lot of books! That's amazing that you've managed to keep reviews on all of them.
ReplyDeleteI work for Chapters/Indigo and noticed that you are reviewing Eclipse. I hope the series isn't going downhill - we've had some great feedback from people on how much they love the series.
We had an exclusive interview with Stephenie Meyer that I thought you might be interested in as such a huge book fan. You can find it here: http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/Stephenie_Meyer_Page/Stephenie_Meyer_Page-promo.html?s_campaign=blog_stephenie_meyer
Hope you find it interesting!
Sarah
Thanks for the interview, I will post it when I update later. I personally am not liking Eclipse at all, but that's just me.
