R.I.P. Sandy

You Will Be Missed

Thanks to everyone for your kind thoughts. I have lost pets before, but me and Sandy were really close. The vet told me I am lucky she lasted so long, she had a stomach tumour. In hindsight, I have learned to pay attention to your instinct because I knew it was her stomach but I listened to the people with the degrees. She was in a lot of pain and I am happy to know that she is no longer suffering. If I believe in the heaven ideal, than I know that her and Shelby are together again. Now, if that would only make me feel better, but right now I just really miss my dog.

  1. So sorry to hear this! She must have been a very well loved and happy dog, though.

  2. Well, the vet said it was a miracle she was still alive. I sort of think she fought as long as she could because she was happy here but it became too much for her. I mean, she was hardly able to walk and she still made every effort to follow me around. She was spoiled, though. I have treated her very well since the day we got her. Actually, I faked sick so I could go with my parents to get her.

  4. I really sorry. I was hoping she would pull through. At least she's no longer in any pain.

  5. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss Kailana! That's one of the hardest things. Sandy was so lucky to have you, and you certainly did the best thing for her. She's no longer suffering. You'll always have your memories of her. All the best to you!

  8. Thanks everyone. I have spent the afternoon going through pictures for a frame I bought. It has 8 slots, if it will come out I will post a picture when I am done. I can see the weight gain, though. I have a pic of her from May and she was a lot bigger today. She's never been skinny, but when I compare it was really bad!

I'm so sorry to hear about Sandy. I know just how much you are hurting. I've had to do this myself to a few pets, and it is so hard to do. But you know that Sandy is no longer hurting and will be with her sister Shelby. Hugs to you today.

  10. I'm so sorry :( *hugs* I know what losing a pet feels like, and although it's probably not much comfort right now, it sounds like she lived a very happy life with you.

Hugs and sympathies, Kailana. And I'm so glad you found a smarter vet. Vets are like doctors---there are good ones and bad ones, and you have to keep looking until you find a good one.

  16. Every time I checked your blog, I was scared to find this post. I know it was a hard day for you, though not as hard for Sandy. She will always be grateful to you for your care and friendship. As you are for hers.
