TwentyTen Reading Challenge and Dewey's Mini-Challenge

I wasn't going to join anymore challenges until 2010 was started, but then I remembered I meant to join Darren's challenge and hadn't yet, so first I should do that! (Also, I plan to join a graphic novel challenge and an essay challenge, so I suppose that will be before January, too.)

The aim is to read a total 20 books, over ten categories, in 2010. (Was this challenge based solely around the name? I’ll let you decide!)

Rules:

  • Read 2 books from each category, making a requirement of 20 books total.
  • The categories are intended to be loose guidelines only, if you decide it fits, then it fits. (Apart from those marked **)
  • Categories marked with ** have tighter rules, and these must be followed.
  • Each book can only qualify for one category.
  • Crossovers with other challenges are allowed.
  • Books read from 01/01/2010 to 31/12/2010 are eligible.

  3. I was going to suggest you could fill the charity slot with books that donate some/all of their proceeds to charity, but... Apparently I can't.

There's the second-hand books you can buy on Oxfam Unwrapped UK, though, that I think ship internationally too, that you might want to consider looking at as an alternative. *doesn't know, hopes she's being helpful*

Have fun with the challenge, though! ^-^

  6. I think for the charity one, if you don't have a local shop with a decent selection, you could either donate a couple of books to your nearest shop from your TBR pile or give a couple of bookmooch points away to a bookmooch charity. As I said in my post, I'm not strict with the rules, so if you think it counts it does!

Oh, and welcome to the challenge!

  8. Oh I like this one! It sounds pretty easy to complete too. Oh with the charity thing, couldn't you just read a book that has charity at the center of the plot?

I am so sorry, but I turned anonymous commenting off. I have had it from the very beginning, but that is how the spam is getting by my spam filter at the moment. If it is a big deal I will turn it back on and moderate all comments. I also changed moderation from older than 14 days to older than 7.
