Library Loot - January 19, 2010

I am not sure what is wrong with me so far this year. I have hardly read anything and I am hardly updating my blog and I am hardly visiting other blogs! And, that was a long sentence...

The Gates by John Connolly
Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls
My most excellent year by Steven Kluger
Literary Hoaxes: an eye-opening history of famous frauds by Melissa Katsoulis
White is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi
Muse and Reverie by Charles deLint
Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

I really want to read all of these books, but my reading sucks. It's sad following my best reading year in a long time...

  1. You probably just need a break, or are going through a slump. Maybe fabulous new skinny you just has too much energy bursting from her to sit down and read!

Maybe you're just too busy waiting for Teresa Edgerton to turn up and therefore just can NOT read anything else :-)

  2. Give yourself a break. My post is up a little early too.

  3. After last year, I wouldn't be surprised if you just need a BREAK! Either that or you just have a lot going on right now! I completely understand how sometimes you just want to veg out.

As for your books, YAY MY MOST EXCELLENT YEAR :D It's a very fun book! As for The Gates...um, not so excited about that one :p I couldn't make it through the first 50 pages of that one :p

  4. Ease off a little and maybe don't be so hard on yourself? I had all sorts of plans about reading classics this year. Started one, struggled to get to page 60... realised that life was simply too short and went back to my lovely genre reading. Happy now.

  5. I always hit a slump in January. Relax and fall into it as you will. :)

  6. It happens! Gotta take the blogging and reading ruts right along with the rest of it. I hope you're back in the swing soon!

  8. Yay! for My Favourite Year! As Chris said, it's such a fun book!

Do you want to hold off our buddy read until you're feeling more inspired? It's not as if I don't have another 150 books I can pick from, to keep me going! :D

  9. Awww. After all that you've read last year, I'm not surprised that you need a break. Don't pressure yourself. You'll feel like yourself again in no time.

  10. I know 7 books so far this year seems horrible to you compared to last year, but I'd be thrilled if I had that many read...I'm having a miserable reading month, too--only three. :( Anyway, I think the best thing to do is not worry about, Kelly. I just hope you're finding something to do that makes you happy.

  11. My reading and blog hopping has been super slow this year. I am getting used to a new routine now that I'm back to work, still trying to get our new home in order, etc. So I can relate. I'm sure you just need a bit of a break and you'll be back to all the reading and visiting soon. By the way, hurrah on the weight loss!

  12. It sucks when the things that usually captivate merely seem bleh. Chill for awhile - it should creep back soon.

  13. You know what? That's exactly how I am now. I am hoping to get back to normal soon.
