Week in Review (28)

Random Thoughts

I am impressed that I am finding time to write this post. It has been a busy weekend! I like to have these posts for future reference, though, so I am making an effort to get this done. I didn't get a chance to read anything Friday or Saturday; so my reading for the week slowed down a bit. I am actually looking forward to this weekend being over and done with. It is been rather overwhelming.

Challenge News

I read Next to Love which will count for the Historical Fiction Challenge.

Weekly Reads

167. Resistence: A Woman's Journal of Struggle and Defiance in Occupied France by Agnes Humbert (Completed August 9, 2011)
168. The Well of Lost Plots (Thursday Next Series, Book 3) by Jasper Fforde (Completed August 9, 2011)
169. Next to Love by Ellen Feldman (Completed August 11, 2011)

There would have been more, but I didn't get any reading time. Monday will probably be my first chance to catch-up on things.

Weekly Posts

New Additions

Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman
The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson (my 'physical' copy finally arrived)

I think I will probably post this separately because I can't remember exactly and the library website is down.

Nothing this week...

A signed (yay!) copy of Death in the Traveling City by Nathalie Mallet

  1. Ah, I really enjoyed Resistance. I had to go search for it on my blog it was a while back but I remember it now. That was a good one! Hope you enjoyed it as much as I.

  2. Yay for progress on a challenge! I'm totally stinking on them this year.

  3. I want to read Feldman's Next To Love as I really enjoyed her novel on FDR and his love, titled Lucy. You got a lot done in such a busy week!

  4. I really enjoyed Next to Love. I see you have some Gaiman to read - I still haven't read anything of his. I'll have to give one of his stories a try someday since everyone seems to love them.

  5. Looking forward to your thoughts on some of your reads this week. I was at a bookstore yesterday where they have a used section and wanted to buy a couple of books but then could't remember if I already owned them or not!!!!!!!! The need to acquire books is crazy isn't it???!!! :D

  6. I need to update my challenges.... so behind :)

  7. You are just way too organized!! I just finished Lost in a Good Book! I have to dig up a copy of the next "Next" book soon!! I have a mad crush on Jasper Fforde!

  8. **Nicola: It was really interesting and the translation was well-done.

**bermudaonion: I have been ignoring challenges too much, I think.

**bellezza: I have heard good things about Feldman's other books. I will probably read them at some point.

**Alyce: I have read a fair amount of Gaiman. This is the only short story collection I haven't read.

**Staci: I know. I really need to write some reviews!

**Sheila: I need to pay more attention to some of my challenges...

**Stephanie: I have my moments... lol
