Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
It depends. The Egg Nog the guy buys has way too many spices in it for me, so I won't drink it. So, if it is the right kind then both.
Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
I wrap things. Unless the person knows what it is all ready. Then I stick in a gift bag.
Colored lights on tree/house or white?
Coloured. If white is done right it looks fine, but generally it is a bit too dull for me.
Do you hang mistletoe?
Nope!
When do you put your decorations up?
I didn't actually decorate at all this year. We won't really be here and the cat gets into everything. Generally I decorate on the 1st, though.
What is your favorite holiday dish?
Mincemeat Pie.
Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
At the time thinking Santa was on the roof...
When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I actually don't remember.
Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Sometimes. It depends on who we are spending Christmas with.
How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
I don't. We just have one of those fibre optic ones that sits on the table. No room for anything bigger!
Snow! Love it or Dread it?
On the one hand I love it... On the other hand I absolutely hate driving in it and shovelling gets old fast!
Can you ice skate?
Well, I don't fall down, but I don't exactly glide either...
Do you remember your favorite gift?
I would have to say probably my eReader. Otherwise, it is all the books I buy with the gift cards I receive.
What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
Everyone getting along...
What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?
Mincemeat tarts... (I all ready said pie above. Should have read further down.)
What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Well, we don't really have traditions. I did when I was a child, but since I have gotten with the guy every Christmas has been different. We really need to figure something out that we can do every year.
What tops your tree?
Nothing, but when I was a kid it was usually an angel.
Which do you prefer giving or receiving?
Generally giving, but this year was just a stressful experience. No one is easy to buy for any more... I used to be excited about what I gave people. This year, not so much...
Candy Canes: Yuck or Yum?
I can take them or leave them...
Favourite Christmas Show?
Muppet Christmas Carol. I still haven't watched it this year... Maybe tonight!
Saddest Christmas Song
'Christmas Shoes' by Newsong.
I finally got the pictures of Casey off my phone.
Her first night here. |
The only time you can get a decent picture is when she is asleep. |
I decided to make a puzzle... She decided to 'help'. |
The replacement comforter makes a good place to sleep... |
Checking out John Lennon. |
Aw, I love the cat pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteI've never had anything with mincemeat in it...
Ickers, I so dislike mincemeat!!! Also, your answer to the skating question was awesome, so true of me too. Though I do love skating still...
ReplyDeleteAlso, your kitty is absolutely adorable, love the photos, thanks for sharing.
Aw, Casey is so adorable <3 Also, can you believe I've never tried mince pies? In fact, my discovery that they don't actually involve meat is somewhat recent :P
ReplyDeleteYay for cat pictures! I love the one of her in the puzzle box!
ReplyDeleteI am totally stealing this q&a for my blog. ;)
:0 The cats un-decorated our tree immediately. Then I placed a Sscat canister in front of the tree. Re-decorated and things are fine.
ReplyDeleteBefore that, however, I had to get all three of them out of the tree. They thought I'd given them another climbing toy.
Never had mincemeat. Not even sure what it is, to be honest!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful kitty. They do make decorating tough, though!!
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas Kelly!
Cats, what crazy and extremely photogenic creatures, they are.
ReplyDeleteSo, isn't mincemeat spicy in a holiday spice kind of way? the idea of mincemeat makes me shudder. I LOVE LOVE LOVE eggnog - but I can't stop with one glass of it and can drink a whole gallon if I didn't stop myself. My husband hates eggnog so I can't blame it on him if the carton is empty a few days after I buy it.
Love the cat photos!
ReplyDeleteI just don't like mincemeat, but my mother loves it.
It is fun to hear about other people's holiday traditions and memories. I don't actually remember hearing that Santa wasn't real either. I guess we weren't too traumatized by it!
ReplyDelete**Amanda: I am glad you enjoyed the cat pictures. People keep asking to see her, so I try and oblige.
ReplyDeleteMincemeat used to be a staple, but I didn't have anything mincemeat related this year.
**Amy: Yes, I think I was very alone in my liking of it growing up... I haven't gone skating in years!
Thanks!
**Ana: She is pretty cute. Active, though! Mincemeat seems to be an acquired taste...
**Cat: I know! I am not sure what she is going to do when she doesn't fit any more!
**jenclair: Yes, we never even bothered with the tree in the end. We weren't home much anyway.
**Trish: Mincemeat is basically just minced ingredients. What it consists of depends on who makes it.
**Care: Yes, it is too bad you can't always catch them doing the things you want to catch them doing, though. The mincemeat I used to have wasn't spicy that I recall. It has been a couple years. I could live without egg nog and be quite content. The guy on the other hand gets excited for it.
**Carol: Thanks!
It seems to be an acquired taste. :)
**Jenners: No, I don't think I was that upset that Santa wasn't real. It did change Christmas a bit, though...
