Long-Awaited Read Month - January 2013

Ana and Iris are hosting this event this month. I would hypothetically like to join in. If I read basically anything I own, except recent purchases, I would essentially only read books that count. Except that I am currently reading a graphic novel series I was lent on Christmas Eve. Those don't count. But, should I actually get in a groove following this series I will be reading books that count for this.

As to what I want to read... Sequels. If I made a list it would include The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson, The Girl Who Fell Below Fairyland and Lead the Reveals There by Catherynne Valente, The End of the World by Derek Landy, and Island of Doom by Arthur Slade. Oh, and the new Moira Young, Rebel Hearts. Yes, they were all last year releases, but I can't believe I haven't read any of them. And, these are just what I am thinking about right now. I can probably think of a lot more.

What are some books you really want to get to that you haven't yet?

  1. There are a few new releases from last year on my list too. One of them is the Girl who Circumnavigated Fairyland.. Quite curious about that one as it seems to be so well loved!

And those graphic novels might count if it were titles you had your eye on before?

What I like best about organising this month is seeing what everone is planning to read, making my own plans, and just sharing joy. I hope that you'll join us for that :)

  2. You know, I don't think a single book in my pile is from 2012. I'll probably get around to 2012 books in about 2020. :P

  3. I considered joining this event but came to the decision that I want my entire year to be about getting to the books I always meant to. Unfortunately, this month is one I have too much else going on to devote it just to that. I do think it's a great idea though and hope you enjoy your reading!

  7. Quite a few on my list are sequels too. It can be easy to pause during a series to read something else and not get back to it. I've some literary and historical fiction on my list for this challenge.

  8. I think that this sounds like such a fun idea! I'm going to at least try to fit in one read this month that follows this idea. I love it!!

  9. Oh dear--that list would be massive! I am trying to concentrate on reading from my own piles this year, however, so anything you see on my blog sidebar at the moment is pretty much something I've owned for a while and am happy to finally get to. I did start reading the second Bess Crawford book finally! Happy New Year Kailana--thanks so much for the Christmas card--home my wee postcard arrived safely. Need to get another round of postcards ready for mailing!

  10. There's so many books I've been meaning to read. I think I'll finally start on Among Others by Jo Walton.
