I Have Been... Take Four

Writing: Blog posts... Sort of... I blogged yesterday about The Bell at Sealey Head by Patricia McKillip at least. I am hoping to slowly get back into blogging... Wish me luck! I even visited a few blogs yesterday. And commented. And added books to my wish list. It's a start, right? Otherwise, I have addressed a bunch of postcards and need to get around to mailing them. Most of my writing is a few scribbles at the end of the day in my day-by-day journal. Now that I have made it to year two I don't want to fall behind!

Reading: Thanks to Carl, I am currently obsessing over Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey. You see, Carl is talking about a group read of The Dragon's Path by Daniel Abraham in July. Daniel Abraham is part of the writing duo that wrote Leviathan Wakes. As a special promotion you can get Leviathan Wakes and it comes with The Dragon's Path. So, thinking a group read would be fun I picked it up. Then Whisper-sync came up and said I could get the audio book for 3.99. So, for 5 dollars I got two e-books and an audio. Not too shabby! I decided to glance at Leviathan Wakes yesterday and now I am a bit caught up in it... And the sequel, Caliban's War, is in the current Audible sale... So, I might have that now, too. It's been ages since I started a new science-fiction series. I am a bit excited.

Listening: Well, currently I am actually listening to two audiobooks. I am rereading The Night Circus as my main read. After the success of The Name of the Wind as a reread I decided that is the way to finally reread books I have wanted to read for ages. I am really excited to re-discover favourites all over again. I am enjoying The Night Circus all over again. I can't wait until my next reread. I am thinking maybe The Thirteenth Tale, but it also might be Shadow & Bone because the sequel is on its way to me in the mail and I want to refresh my memory. I am also listening to Leviathan Wakes because I had to test out Whispersync. It is actually pretty cool! Too bad all the other audios I have the e-books are too pricey.

Watching: Nothing really. I honestly don't know if I have really even watched the television since my last post. I am really bad for that...

Looking: More pictures, of course!

Learning: That while I still wish I got to my TBR pile a bit quicker... I am starting to enjoy my reading habits. I may not have read a lot this year but there have been some treasures!

Anticipating: Nice weather! The weekend wasn't very nice at all and I want some sunshine. Hopefully next weekend will be nice so I can get out with my camera...

Wishing: That I was a bit better with time management. I never seem to get to all the things that I want to get to... This is partly because I get distracted by other things...

Loving: Life. I am determined that 2013 is on an upward climb...

  1. LOVE the narration of The Night Circus. Jim Dale is amazing. What a voice! I've only listened to a bit of it, as I read the story in book form, but my is he good.

I've started reading A Wise Man's Fear after seeing Patrick Rothfuss recently but will set it aside for a bit to do the group read as I'm really into Abraham right now, as are you.

  5. I hope this second reread works for you too! It makes me so sad when people don't reread, because a substantial percentage of my joy in reading comes from rereads. If I couldn't reread my books a dozen times I would be lost.

  9. I think time management is a bit of a snare and a delusion--yes, it's pointless to spend to much time on things that don't matter, but if what you are doing matters, it is worthwhile...or something!

    Anyway. Pretty pictures!

  19. Beautiful photos! I like Whispersync, too, when it works. I still have it not remember the right place or failing to prompt me at all but when it DOES work, I love going back and forth!

  20. Fabulous photos - that one of the boats is still my favorite. It's just so peaceful.

I have the audio of The Night Circus for a re-read because I just knew Jim Dale would be perfect for it. I haven't listened to it yet but perhaps this summer.
