I Have Been... Take Fifteen

Writing... I continue to blog. I am hoping that means 2014 will be a good blogging year. We will see how that goes... Otherwise I am behind on most everything else that I write. It is kind of sad.

Reading... I am still in the midst of things. It has just been too busy to get much reading done this week. On my e-reader I am reading A Study in Silks (The Baskerville Affair, Book 1) by Emma Jane Holloway. It is about Sherlock's niece. I still haven't finished reading the Arthur Conan Doyle books, so why not start another series... Not to mention Laurie King's series... Then in paper I am reading Shards of Honor by Lois McMaster Bujold. I am almost done, but I just haven't had time to read it lately.

Listening... I finished The Cloud Roads by Martha Wells on Saturday. It was a really good start to a fantasy trilogy and I am glad I finally read Wells. I have the other two books on audio thanks to Audible sales; so I am looking forward to seeing how the story plays out. I have now moved on to Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. It's good so far! I can think of a few people that it would make an awesome gift for.

Looking... It is the end of the Elf on Shelf adventures. She is still hanging out on my bookcase, but no more pictures until next year.

Day 27:

Day 28:

Learning... That I am obsessed with books and need to go back to not buying them... I got 27 books with Christmas gift cards... (I am so excited about them, though!)

Anticipating... All my orders arriving! They broke them up into random orders so I get a bunch of packages coming my way.

  1. Myself, I think you should start about TWENTY more series this year. You're not getting enough of them in your reading diet. ;)

  3. I'm behind in everything, too. I am trying hard to finish two books before the end of the year and then will likely clear most of what's left on my reading stack with just a few carry-overs. I am so ready for a fresh start! Yay for new books. And as they were gift card purchases no need to feel guilty, right?! I have a few gift cards, too, though I have yet to order anything--I like to drag them out over the year for as long as I can! :)

  4. 27! In keeping with tradition I did not get a single book or bookish gift for Christmas, LOL
    Have a merry week!

  10. 27 books with gift cards? That's wonderful! I've been noticing all the great deals with Nook books and Kindle deals. I've bought a few myself, but not because of gift cards. ;)

The pictures with you elf are darling. My students loved telling us where their elf was before we began Christmas break. I wish I had done that with my son when he was small.
