Writing... It is kind of nice to be blogging a bit again. I am hoping I can keep it up! It would be nice to talk about some of the books I have read over the year, too, but I am trying not to pressure myself!
Reading... I finished The Diviners by Libba Bray Saturday evening. Then I started Midnight Never Come by Marie Brennan. I have wanted to read this author forever and finally here I am! I am liking it so far and look forward to reading more. I pulled a possible pile of up-coming reads off my bookshelves last night:
Listening... I finished Stiff by Mary Roach. I really liked it. I can't wait to read more from her, but I think I will stick with audio and I don't have anything else by her at the moment. I am currently listening to Hogfather by Terry Pratchett. I decided to make it my Christmas read. I have read Pratchett before, but this is my first time listening to audio. I like it so far!
Looking... Still on my quest to take picture of my Elf on the Shelf. I think it is fun. I am also trying to take pictures more, but the weather has been gray and raining. I am not exactly inspired.

Learning... How to get back to the things that I enjoy! Sometimes things get a bit crazy and you forgot to stop and smell the roses... I have missed reading and blogging. Next step is to get back to playing with my camera.
Anticipating... Getting to my TBR pile. There are so many books I bought because I was so excited about them and it is about time I started working on the pile. A new fridge! I hate the one in the house and apparently we are getting a new fridge for Christmas.
Loving... That the new house is coming together. We are decorated for Christmas, but next year I have slightly bigger plans. We went small for year one because there are other things that were more important to spend money on. I am hoping maybe there will be some things left when it comes time for the sales.
You might not pressure yourself, but *I* will pressure YOU! :) I want to hear about some of those books you've been reading...and NOW :P.
ReplyDeleteHaven't read anything in your tbr except Maddaddam, which I quite enjoyed. Better than the middle book and a good ending for the trilogy!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you have lots of good reading ahead of you. I have Midnight Never Come on my TBR list as well so I can't wait to hear what you think! Enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to three weeks off from homeschooling and a lot of time to just read!
ReplyDeleteCute pictures of the Elf! Is the Libba Bray book you read part of a series? I need to read something else by her!
ReplyDeleteThe elf pictures are so fun. I like the one in the tree and, of course, the book one!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get hold of a copy of A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan myself -- I liked Midnight Never Come, and A Natural History of Dragons sounds if possible even more fun and delightful. Glad your December is going well so far! :)
ReplyDeleteWhen do we get to pics of your new house? :)
ReplyDeleteWhat cute pictures! Midnight Never Come is a book I've been wanting to read for ages. Someday. I hope. LOL I have a copy of The Diviners as well. I hope you are enjoyed one and continue to enjoy the other.
ReplyDeleteStiff is my favorite Mary Roach book. I've read a couple of her others as well. She's so funny.
I hope you have a wonderful week!
I'm glad you're back blogging again! And I second the request for new house pictures :-)
ReplyDeleteThe Diviners looks great. I've never read any Libba Bray, so I don't know if that would be a good place to start? I have A Great and Terrible Beauty on my stacks too (forever). I love me some Mary Roach, but Stiff is definitely my favorite of her books so far.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you're having fun with your Elf! Good luck reading from your TBR pile - I'm too distracted by new books or good reviews to stick to one for very long.
ReplyDeleteI like your Elf of the Shelf photos! I've been trying to take more pictures, but inside our house is boring and outside is too darn cold!
ReplyDeleteYou elf is so funny! I love it. My sister has been taking tons of pictures of her elf, too, and my niece absolutely adore it.
ReplyDeleteHow did you like The Diviners? I heard really great things about it!
I'm sooooo happy to see you around the blogs more :)))
ReplyDeleteI need to get back to Patricia Riggs
