Wrapping up One Experience and Starting a New One...

I always join in for Carl's challenges. I might suck at participating much, especially this year, but I have never officially missed one. I love science-fiction and really should read more of it. We will see how that goes...

I have no particular titles in mind, but I would like to read John Scalzi, James S.A. Corey, and maybe some of the Star Trek series I have kicking around.

There are not really any rules for this challenge, but you can read more about it at Carl's blog where he posted about it. The challenge runs from December 1, 2013 to January 31, 2014.

Then I casually participated in the Thankfully Reading Weekend. I didn't have time to just read and nothing else, but that's life. I didn't start reading until Thursday evening. I originally planned to start with listening to more of Stiff by Mary Roach, but my iPod updated and shut off to do so. Then I had some humming and hawing to do because I wasn't sure if I wanted to read something I had all ready started or just start from scratch. I wound up starting Exit Strategy by Kelley Armstrong. I haven't had much luck with reading lately so I thought a clean slate was in order. So, up until Sunday morning I alternated between Exit Strategy and listening to Stiff. I finished Exit Strategy so that is one thing. Sunday I started The Diviners by Libba Bray and am enjoying it so far. Not really a reading weekend, but at least I got some in.

  3. I have a lifelong love of Science Fiction Literature and have been tempted to join that challenge also. Alas September is a very busy month.

In regards to the Star Trek novels. It has been so many years since I have read one, I cannot imagine just how many of them that there are out there!

  4. I participated in Thankful Reading too this past weekend and have to say it nice to be able to carve out some time over the holiday to read. Sounds like you made a dent though in some reading.

  5. All good choices there, K! The great thing about my events is that you succeed just by taking part.

I have 7 books and a short story in the Vanguard series of Star Trek novels sitting on my shelves waiting to be read. Its been so long since I read the first that I'm going to have to go to the ST Wiki page and get a good review of it before I pick up the second book.

I am so sorry, but I turned anonymous commenting off. I have had it from the very beginning, but that is how the spam is getting by my spam filter at the moment. If it is a big deal I will turn it back on and moderate all comments. I also changed moderation from older than 14 days to older than 7.
