Week in Review (8)

Random Thoughts
A stupid cold kind of killed my plans for the week. We are watching the Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics and then hopefully I will get some time to do stuff. I am still sick, but feeling better than I have been! The up-coming week sounds like it is going to be busier than I anticipated. Hopefully I will have some time to read a last few things for the month.

Lucy Maud Montgomery
Yeah, failed on this unless I have time to squeeze something in by her before the month is out. Hopefully I can get some books read by her in March or I will never accomplish my goal!

Graphic Novel Year
Um, yeah, didn't read any graphic novels this week either! I kept meaning to... Never happened...

Other Reading Projects

Nothing for any of this either...

Challenge News
Wake by Anna Hope counts for the War Through the Generations Challenge and The Historical Fiction Reading Challenge.

The Martian used log entries, so I counted it for the Postal Reading Challenge.

Audiobooks
Yep. Not surprising no progress here either! I am still listening to The Splendour Falls by Susanna Kearsley!

Currently Reading

Lots of things... I think that is my problem! I need to get organized in March because we are going away for a week.

I follow him on Instagram, so I was happy to get a copy of his book!

Such an awesome book! Review to come soon!

I almost said the same thing for this book, but I have no idea what to think of the ending... I have to think about this one a bit more.

  1. I hope you feel better soon and find some time to read this week! I'm looking forward to the reviews of those two awesome books - both really intriguing covers in different ways! :)

  4. More get well wishes! Tried to request The Martian from NetGalley, but the description said UK reviewers preferred. Stolen Songbird must have been archived.
Bad luck or bad timing for me.

  7. Feel better soon! Colds have been going around where I work, and so far I've avoided one, but it's bound to get me sometime.

The ending of Wake... I hear you.

  8. I'm reading too much right now, too! Some of it's themed with each other -- fun in a way, but I'm also getting a bit confused :-)

  12. I hope you are feeling better now and are able to get some things done for your trip.

Yay for The Martian!!! Just a little slice of awesome, wasn't it?

Sigh. I still feel such a pang of lost opportunity for Wake. I keep hoping it was a major editing error in the galley. I don't know how I'll feel if it turns out to be legit.

    Have a good week!

  13. My local bookstore is doing a promotion with The Martian - they will refund your money if you don't love the book - so I really want to read it. Enjoy your new books!

  17. I am glad you are feeling better, Kelly. Hopefully you will continue to get better too!

The cover of Stolen Songbird captured my eye right away. I look forward to reading your thoughts on it. I am getting excited about my March reading, but also don't want to overdo it. I hope my expectations aren't too high.

    Have a great week!

  19. Maybe it didn't feel like an organized week of reading for you, but you still did awesomely! Hard to argue with finishing four books, especially when it sounds like you definitely enjoyed them all! :)
P.S. Go away, stupid cold, and leave Kelly alone!

  20. Hopefully by now you're feeling better! This has felt like the longest winter and I'm so looking forward to springtime...even if it means that wretched summer heat is right around the corner. I keep hearing about The Martian but I don't know anything about it. Glad you loved it! Can't wait to hear more.
