What I Learned
July and August have become my least favourite months of the year and I am not even sure why. I guess to others it is summer and school's out or you have lots of vacation from work. For me, everyone else is on vacation and out of school while I still have to carry on like normal. Only, I get the added fact of people around more which means more cooking and cleaning. I do not get any benefit out of summer it seems. Hopefully this feeling will pass one of these summers, but my reading always slows way down and I feel stressed out and disconnected for two months. I find myself looking forward to September and October. I am hoping my overall mood will improve this month and I can get back to reading and other things I neglected in August.

um, nothing... Wow! That is because there were a couple August releases and by the time they shipped, they will be in my September new additions...
School starts here in early August so I'm back to being mildly productive. June and July I was barely treading water! I'm so curious about The Regional Office is Under Attack! It looks like such a fun read/listen. Hope September is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI'm a summer lover, but I kind of had an out of sorts August anyway. I finished a disappointing one book. Did you like To the Bright Edge of the World? That's one I'm definitely curious about!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry the summer is hard for you. I hope September is better for you. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I feel you! I hate summer. For me it's the heat. It's just too hot to do anything. And for some reason it hinders my reading. I think it's because, like you said, there's all these visiting people and things going on and it just gets hectic. I can't wait for cooler weather and lots more reading!
ReplyDeleteI really dislike July and August too, always feel reinvigorated once September comes. Hope it's the same for you.
ReplyDeleteI'd not heard of The Regional Office is Under Attack! before, but it looks like insane fun!
ReplyDeleteMonstress and the Ivey -- our overlapping books! I'm not a big summer fan because I don't really love the heat.
ReplyDeleteLike Beth F, I'm not a fan of summer because here in Texas the heat is intense. I'm ready for Fall! :) Hope you have a great reading month ahead!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you've good reason for July and August not to be favourites :) More dog walks, perhaps? (If you can.)
ReplyDeleteHow is the new Eowyn Ivey?
