R.I.P. XI - Signing Up Yet Again!

The 11th R.I.P. hosted over at Stainless Steel Droppings. I have signed up every year, but don't always read as much as I would like for it. I am hoping this fall will be a good reading month and I will read some good stuff off of my TBR!

My Pool of Possibilities:

The Troop by Nick Cutter
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare
The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon
Something by James S.A. Corey
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo
Something by Ilona Andrews
Something by Jennifer Estep
Something by Sarah Waters
Something by Alan Bradley
Something by Derek Landy
Something by Patricia Briggs

As you can see, I am a bit indecisive about what I want to read this year...

What is in your RIP pool of possibilities?

  1. I liked The Bone Season. I haven't read anything by Sarah Waters or Alan Bradley for a while, but maybe this will be the perfect time.

  2. Looks like plenty of good choices! I am thinking I'll finally read Kristin Cashore this year -- that counts, right? It sounds like quite dark fantasy!

  3. Signing up is the easy part, eh? I don't share your problem of following up with the reading, because I usually manage at least a half dozen and some movies, but I suffer from a variation of it: I rarely read the books that I plan to read for the event and seem to make a project out of avoiding them once I write them down. Like they scare me off, or something? So I'm not thinking too hard about it, but will peek at previous year's lists instead. BTW, I loved (and hated) The Troop. (The Deep was very good too.)

  4. I've got a good feeling about this RIP, Kelly. I think we're both going to just crank out the books! Okay, that's far more likely to be true for you than for me, but I'm optimistic nonetheless. 😊

  5. I've signed up for this a few times too, but I don't seem to finish what I start. Maybe, it's the books I pick, lol. I'm still trying to decide if this is something I want to participate in again. Good luck to you!

  6. There's a new Alan Bradley coming out soon. I actually just preordered it yesterday but I'm thinking about some Flavia rereads to get ready! And I'm considering a Sarah Waters reread too (since I don't have any of her books unread). Have a fantastic season!

  9. Love it that you have been a part of all 11!!!

I'm hoping to listen to the one Alan Bradley I haven't gotten to, as it won't be long until there will be another to read.

I need to read more Bardugo. I've read a short of hers and I thought it was great.
