7 'Interesting' Things About Me

Jenny at Alternate Readality did this meme of sorts, and since I am always looking for easy ways to blog... I thought I would, too!

1. | I am not a flowers, chocolates, and jewellery type. But, I did get flowers for my birthday this year that were multi-coloured and really have enjoyed using them for photo-a-day prompts. I could come around to this getting flowers thing!

2. | You probably know this, but I am atrocious at TV watching. There are so many shows that I have heard good things about and want to try. I watch an episode or two and then fall behind. The only two shows still on the air that I usually manage to catch-up on are NCIS and Bones.

3. | Autumn is my favourite season. I love the changing leaves and the crispness to the air. I used to love winter when I was younger, but it loses its appeal when you have to clean out your driveway or drive in dangerous conditions. Not to mention power outages in the winter suck!

4. | I rarely actually use my cellphone for any of the phone functions. I mostly use it as a little tablet... Although, I prefer to do any reading on the larger screens of my tablet (or usually dead, e-reader).

5. | I think you have probably figured this out lately, but I am very routine-oriented. If my routine gets thrown off, it throws off my day because I feel like there is stuff not finished when I get to the end of the day. It is why the summer is hard for me, the guys son is here a lot more and I lose my 'me' time in the morning.

6. | I like making lists and keeping track of things. I still do my day by day journal that I blogged about in like 2012. I think for 2017, I am going to take it one step further and get one of these Q&A a Day journals. If I can keep it up, it would be fun to see how I change over 5 years.

7. | I have a love/hate relationship with politics. I say I am going to ignore them and not comment on them, but as time passes I am spending more and more time glancing at the train wreck. I think Canadians need to pay more attention to our closest neighbours because what happens down there ultimately affects us... I just think we live in a scary world.

Not necessarily interesting, but it is what it is!

  1. I'm a flowers gal but not so much a jewelry or chocolates gal. I prefer to buy my own when it comes to that stuff, even if I never buy myself GOOD jewelry. (I do buy myself GOOD chocolate. I have to draw the line somewhere after all.)

I'm with you on routine. If I don't take the time to sit down each morning and plan my day, I am all over the place and totally discombobulated. I hate that feeling.

  2. Oh I LOVE lists. I make lists all the time. Not that I actually follow them, or do the things that are needed on them...

Have to say I am a big fan of binge watching. If I have to watch a show every week, I will inevitably lose track or miss too many. Whereas I can easily nail a season in a couple of weekends..then stagger outside bleary eyed..

  3. Yay! I'm glad you decided to tag yourself! I don't like flowers much either but sometimes it's nice. Fall is my favorite season and always has been. I like winter too. Even with the snow shoveling and driving. It was fun getting to know more about you.

From reading your comments I see we have much in common-- though I like flowers and chocolates, just don't need to wait until my birthday to enjoy them :) well the chocolate, I'll buy for myself, and the flowers I don't hold my breath it's such a rare occurrence.

  5. I gave up on NCIS a while ago. I don't know why, but now that Ziva and DiNozzo are gone, I don't think I'd like it anyway. I do love Bones, though! It's one of my favorites and I'm very excited for the new season.

I'm the same way about politics. I hate them mostly because there's rarely ever a good choice. This time around it's even worse. I'm voting for Hilary, though, because Trump is the WORST person in the world and does not need access to the nuclear codes.

  6. Growing up in Hawaii and Los Angeles, I definitely had mistaken ideas about living in snow. As soon as I had to shovel snow in college, I learned how the reality doesn't live up to the dreams.
And I like to choose my own flowers the most because they are exactly the kind I'm in the mood for at the time. :)

  7. I'm really routine oriented also. I always have been, but I think since having a child I'm even more so - I thrive on routine. Autumn is also my favourite season. Regarding phones, I don't even own a smartphone. I literally use my phone for texting and calling, and that's all.

It was really nice getting to know a little more about you :-)

  9. Fall is my favorite season too! Like you, winter used to be, but the last few we've had here had little snow and lots of cold, so it lost a bit of its magic!

  10. It's always interesting to read these type of posts! I started a Line a Day journal that's supposed to last for five years. I've being keeping it for two years but there are lots of blanks. My problem is that I juggle several journals so they don't all get attention at once.
