February Wrap-Up

February is the shortest month of the year, and it is normally one of my worst reading months! This year, though, February was one of my best! I read 33 books, which is more books than I have read in a month in a long time! So far 2009 has meant a lot of things have changed from previous years:

1. I normally never read the same author in the same month. This year there has been lots of repitition. Read four books by Scott Westerfeld, read two books by James Patterson, two books by Melissa Marr, etc.
2. Actually starting and finishing series! I am the worst for having series on the go. In previous years I would start them, and then it would take me forever to finish them! This year I am actually working on the series that I start. (This post shows the series I have started, finished, and worked on in 2009.)
3. I am reading a lot more young adult books this year than previous years. It's opened a lot of great new reads to me and I have discovered new favourite authors and series.
4. I have read more graphic novels in two months than I have my entire life. I used to read manga here and there, but graphic novels are entirely new to me when you really think about it.
5. Through it all, though, there are still my fantasy novels. Fantasy will always be my thing, and I don't imagine that will change anytime soon.

These are the books I completed this month:
Favourite New Author Discovered: Three-way tie: Scott Westerfeld, Melissa Marr, and Jo Graham.

Favourite Repeat Author Read: Patricia Briggs!

Favourite Parnormal Read: Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs

Favourite Adult Fantasy Novel: Black Ships by Jo Graham

Favourite Young Adult Fantasy Novel: Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr

Favourite Discovery: I actually didn't mind Gifts and Voices by Ursula K. Le Guin (Voices was my favourite.)

Favourite Science-Fiction Read: Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

Favourite Graphic Novel: Fables Volume 8 and 9 by Bill Willingham

Favourite Young Adult Historical Novel: Ten Cents a Dance by Christine Fletcher

Favourite Adult Historical Fiction Novel: Grave Goods by Ariana Franklin

Favourite Read of February 2009: Bone Crossed by Patricia Briggs (Sorry, no contest!)

  9. I think I could have started reading at 12:01am on January 1st and read straight through until Feb. 28th, with no sleep or anything, and still not have been able to read 60 books! You are freakin' amazing, girl!

I am so sorry, but I turned anonymous commenting off. I have had it from the very beginning, but that is how the spam is getting by my spam filter at the moment. If it is a big deal I will turn it back on and moderate all comments. I also changed moderation from older than 14 days to older than 7.
